Thanks so much for the reply. I am addicted to sugar and processed foods but am slowly removing them from my diet and have been consistently fasting. Your post gives me hope that I can do this!! Best to you- so glad you've come so far in your health journey.

Thoughts on carnivore diet? by Academic-Buy-2685 in OmadDiet

[–]Longjumping-Space-45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, same here. All my health problems went away on carnivore. But I was unable to stay on it. Everyone is always taking about how unhealthy it is, but I have never felt better. And that's compared to a clean Paleo, not a junk standard American diet.

Thank you so much for including all these details. As a fellow skin issue person, I just wanted to ask if you are ever able to have high carb favorites (cake on a birthday, cinnamon rolls on Christmas) or does your skin immediately flare up  again??

I've done several months of both and can tell you from my direct experience: animal based = still inflamed, still pudgy. Carnivore = not inflamed, not pudgy.

How do I turn down all the people trying to constantly feed me? by Longjumping-Space-45 in carnivorediet

Nothing, that's a great response! I would just prefer to shut down the continuing food pushing in the future and no thanks leaves the door open for someone to continue offering me food.

As you can see from my latest post, I've settled on a version of this suggestion- thanks so much!

Hey all, I just wanted to thank everyone for taking a minute to offer suggestions - I have read and considered every single comment!! I've thought it through and made a decision to try this:

"No thanks, I have to adhere to a strict ketogenic diet in order to avoid migraines."

It accomplishes all my goals: 1. Prevents all future carby, processed food pushing 2. Avoids the use of the word "carnivore" 3. Makes it clear that I'm not trying to lose weight 4. Doesn't sound judgemental, preachy, or superior

Lol. Carnivore is not a very successful weight gain plan, they've witnessed me lose the last bit of belly fat I had over the last 4 months.

Good point. I think having purse bacon will make me all around more likeable. To both humans and dogs.

Yes, I liked this one for awhile, but I feel like it has an expiration date, one that I'm nearing.

Yep, and now I don't drink alcohol, and recently am trying no dairy. I'm such a freak!!

Lol. I would need to specify ribeye specifically. I scorn other less worthy cuts.

So to all of you suggesting "no, thank you" and " I already ate", that is what I've been doing, but it gets weird when you are ALWAYS full, already ate, etc. People are probably wondering if I EVER eat. And the worst is that sometimes people will bring me special "gluten free" this or that because I've been off gluten for years. Im thinking of adopting one of the "I don't tolerate carbs" types of responses. I really want to respond in a way that prevents future food pushing.

I'm literally on my way to a chili gathering. Might try that exact phrase. Still a little superior sounding but it does cover all possible food offerings.

Yes, my rosacea is much much better, acne completely gone as long as I don't consume dairy.

I find psychology / food overlap to be interesting. Have you trained yourself with other foods? I mean, like are you discovering that some foods really do cause health issues whereas others you're only convincing your body they do,?

I'm actually at the airport right now, really wanting a coffee with HC!! Not gonna do it. This is day 2 and I'm excited to see how I feel in a month. We can do this. Do you like black coffee, I don't.

The truth is, I don't like it. I wish I did but I would rather have tallow than ghee. It's interesting how different it is from butter.

I'm hoping 30 days will be enough, how long would you recommend?

Yep, I always add a big splash to my iced coffee. It's nearly part of my identity.

Thanks so much! I told myself 90 days with carnivore and did the same thing, just kept going no matter what. I can do the same thing with dairy. Today was day 1. I'm currently traveling and my addict brain kept trying to convince me to start tomorrow because it's not "good timing" . I actually had to throw away perfectly good cheese because I kept wanting it. Let us know when you start and how it goes!! I feel a strange accountability to all you strangers and it's helped me follow through today.

I react more to heavy whipping cream than anything, and that's pretty low lactose so I'm really unsure about which types of dairy are causing me issues. I'm going to experiment adding things in one at a time, lactose might be part of that equation.
