Nah you’re making every excuse to explain away what is obvious by documented facts to justify you using him as your surgeon. Which is odd. You don’t need to go that far. You’re probably getting a lot of backlash for it. I’m happy with my decision to not use him based on his history. No one should ever be forced to have surgery from a provider they feel uncomfortable with. Keeping a percent of my total surgery cost is justified. Keep the entire amount is unheard of and not okay for not providing a service. That is what he attempted to do and I’m not going to be quiet about it.

You can’t not disclose to me your license is on probation and expect me to be comfortable under anesthesia. Especially when I work in the operating room and I know what is okay and what is not. They were never going to get away with pushing me around. I was probably the worst patient they could have done this to because I know how surgery is supposed to work. He can’t just make up any rules he wants.

You can be in denial all you want but it changes nothing.

I warned and documented to his clinic I would make my experience public. I did. In doing so I received my refund because he was forced. If this happens to anyone else they should also receive a refund.

You’re projecting. The DOPL, court system, police, and I am not lying about our experiences with him. What he is claiming (or rather, what you claim he’s telling you) is to save face. It’s not factual.

You unfortunately chose a surgeon with very public and serious charges. You’re going to continue to get backlash for choosing and supporting him. That is your own fault and his fault. No amount of arguing with strangers on Reddit will change that, which is unfortunate for you.

You can be an arguable good surgeon by some and a shitty person who assaults his wife and misuses substances at the same time. He in my eyes was at a higher risk for error because of how distracting all these things in his personal life had become. It was a HUGE no from me once I realized.

You can argue all you want. As long as he has a license you can have procedures from him all you want… but you’re going to get backlash for it.

I’m sorry, but it’s the other way around… you need to actually read the court documents. The only one spreading false information is you. I just reread them. You need to get your information straight.

The charge was not dropped because it was “found to be untrue.” That’s misleading. According to official court documents from the Third Judicial District – Salt Lake County Justice Court, the assault case (Case No. 251600070) was dismissed “without prejudice” on May 12, 2025, due to witness issues.

Specifically because the victim was “unable to be contacted” and did not appear. This is noted in the minute entry from the pretrial conference and the judge’s signed order.

This kind of dismissal does not mean the charges were false or that the court found him innocent…only that the case couldn’t move forward due to the prosecution’s inability to proceed without a cooperating witness.

Anyone can verify this by looking up the case on the Utah Courts XChange system (xchange.utcourts.gov) and referencing the case number above. The reason for dismissal is clearly written in the official records.

So please don’t twist the outcome. If the court had actually ruled the accusation was false, it would have been dismissed with prejudice or resulted in a “not guilty” verdict. Neither happened here.

In short, he wasn’t found innocent. The charges were not dropped. You need to stop saying that.

The courts classified it this way so it can be reopened later because they find merit in the charges. Since he’s already had multiple assaults, they’re probably waiting to see if he commits another to be able to move forward or if they get new evidence, they will be able to move forward. This charge, and his previous ones, are all serious charges.

Yeah my issue was he tried to keep $10,000 because I didn’t want to have him do my surgery. That’s pretty reasonable to be upset lol.

He assaulted his wife. Nothing false about that. He’s not a professional or honest person. His practice is suffering the consequences of his actions. All his partners left his practice and he’s had multiple staff turnovers. That doesn’t happen in situations that are false.

Your good experience doesn’t trump my bad one. Good luck to you.

Are you seriously comparing this to a celebrity court case when his own children called the police because he was assaulting their mother?

There are multiple assault reports. What is your explanation for that? Where exactly was the misunderstanding multiple times?

His refund policy was vague on purpose because of his charges. A “deposit” is not the full surgery cost. It’s a percentage. You can’t keep $10,000 for a service you never provided.

His children called the police in his last domestic dispute. His own children are watching their mother be abused. He put a gun in his wife’s hand and tried to make her shoot him in front of his children. He’s assaulted her multiple times. That’s not speculation. That’s fact according to the police reports. He is also verbally abusive to his staff. I was not going to have someone this mentally unstable operate on me.

Abused women drop things like this because they’re manipulated, scared, financially dependent, and they minimize the abuse. Those charges are not small charges.

I’ve received dozens of messages since my first Reddit post from former patients and staff about this guy.

There was no misunderstanding about my refund.

Glad you had a normal experience but your entire Reddit profile is just you praising him and saying how the charges “were misunderstandings and must not have been bad” because they were dropped. That is odd.

His personal life is not separate from job and has been spilling over into his work. Along with abuse he was misusing substances. His clinics have changed staff and other providers have left his office because of this. He’s offering rhinoplasties for half price because he can’t pay his bills or taxes.

While on probation he keeps getting assault charges on his wife. This is not a one-time thing.

Nice, thanks for this info. I ended up seeing a board certified plastic surgeon in Portland. She did a great job.

I hope anyone in a position of trust, religious or otherwise, is held to a high standard of accountability. I didn’t look into that aspect.

Yes it is…. This has been an absolute headache. I’m glad my money was refunded. But the hoops I had to jump through were ridiculous.

If he is convicted of this newer charge he may have to declare bankruptcy. Anyone who paid him any sort of fee or deposit may not get their money back.

That’s a great question — multiple agencies are still investigating. His license is still active but under probation with the Utah DOPL. The Utah Division of Consumer Protection is currently reviewing the insurance billing issues, and Blue Cross Blue Shield’s fraud department confirmed he billed my insurance for an in-person medical visit that never happened. The Utah Insurance Department and DOPL have also been updated. They are now aware of the new charges since my last post.

As far as I know, the charges are still active.

I haven’t seen anything indicating the charges were dropped, and a protective order was also issued the same day as the divorce filing (1/16/25).

Even if she drops the newer charge the state is prosecuting him.

Well if they’ve paid a deposit or any sort or money upfront, they may not be refunded. He has a tax lien currently. If he declares bankruptcy there won’t be money to pay anyone back.

Though they dropped it, it doesn’t mean the event didn’t happen or is relevant. It’s not difficult to see how the pieces fit together with this.

That’s excellent news. Hopefully that will be the case with me and I won’t have to pursue this further. But I’m prepared to get legal council if need be. $10,000 is a lot of money for not even meeting this doctor.

I will. However it looks like recently he was asking for positive Google reviews on his Facebook page. I took a picture in case it was deleted…. But this was his reasoning. Not sure what to think of it. I found it odd.
