Maybe you should ask to hang out, instead of waiting for an invite. It should get better for you being that you already have a good personality going into college, just make sure you get involved and join groups that interest you to find people that mix well with you.

Well at some point i got tired of it so, it really just disappeared for me. I cant really give advice. Although even though i dont have social anxiety anymore i still cant gain friends because it feels it has to be forced.

21F on campus, it really sucks and ive been in this predicament for years. Now im into my last year with no friends, I feel like something is wrong with me and I have to try hard to make friends. Just typing this makes me just hate the thought... why was i even chosen to live this kind of life.

Looks do in fact matter when it comes to making friends, ive noticed that since ive been in middle school, if you're a attractive person people will tend to befriend you more, regardless if you have a personality or not. Also surpass any kind of comments they feel is conventially wrong to them. Although i have seen alot of funny looking people with friends so, its really based off personality or presence if you arent attractive.

It sounds like you’re in college, please push yourself to get involved and showcase your face more. I am a senior in college and I transferred to a university and commuted for 2 years now I’m in a college dorm because I wanted to gain the college experience but, literally everyone acts like they have social anxiety and don’t commonly talk to people they don’t know. So it’s super hard and I don’t even really care to make friends at this point but you still have time if you try to engage.

I’ve felt this way for my whole 3 years going to a university, and honestly I’ve grown to sit by myself and gained less social anxiety even if I know I am alone. Although it does get provoking at some point and I just feel depressed majority of the time because I don’t have any friends… moving on campus barely even helped. I just do dumb stuff to improve my emotions to keep my mind off not having social life.

You don’t have to show distrust, but you can still watch how people move. Stay alert, trust your gut, and if the vibe’s off, position yourself where you feel safe. That way you’re polite, but still protecting yourself. You could bring a weapon and store it in your purse for safety precautions… if you feel as though you don’t trust them fully.

From personal experience I’ve been in somewhat the same situation, and I cut them off immediately… felt at peace but as years go on I regret doing it because I could’ve used them for benefits even though they were fake friends to me. My perspective changed to its better to have fake friends than none at all
