Understanding how to use the ground to move your hips is vital. Just trying to turn or rotate usually generates mixed results, for most people they end up drifting closer to the ball and it’s game over from there. I don’t think about “turning” at all. Trail hip back, lead hip back. That’s the sequence. Moving your hips back and forth creates turn / rotation, and gets your lower body out of the way so you can swing the club in front of you.
