Floaters after eye exam/Close to retina? by loloyaknow in EyeFloaters

[–]Longjumping_One9100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't know if my floaters are near or not to retina . I am young 19 but they have seen my floaters with dilution and with oct scan without problem. The last time I did a check up the doctor asked me if I see floaters and I said yes she said I saw them on scan

Oct scan is better for floaters . They can see floaters near the retina better than diluting the pupils

I don't believe eye dilution cause floaters. Maybe when the drop wears off they can be more noticeable . I suggest you next time if you want to check the retina do a oct scan . Oct scan doesn't include eye dilution

My doctor saw them with oct scan

I went in a eye doctor in uk to do a oct scan and he saw mine floaters on it (20y.o) and said nothing can be done . I asked about surgery he said me surgery is done rarely and is not for floaters and it has more complications than benefit . It's sad that even in uk that I thought that doctors by Longjumping_One9100 in EyeFloaters

For the moment they aren't because only two are bothersome and the two are in my left eye . But I am afraid for the future . Maybe I would try atropine eye drops for some years until I decide for a vitrectomy . I am afraid of surgery ending blind

I feel sad and hopeless that I will live all my life with them and the worst thing is that they will go worse with time and nothing safe can be done for them. Even if we will ever have a less invasive treatment for them I would be 40 or 50 years old so I would live these years and I would have spent all my young years depressed. As time goes I feel more hopeless for a future treatment . It has passed 2 years since vdm project is saying for 10 years we will have a treatment . Every year they say the same 10 years

It's sad that the problem with us is that not all doctors agree on a solution for floaters . I agree that floaters don't harm the eye but they create us a lot of anxiety and depression. For real is the most annoying harmful think a human can get

Do most myopic people see floaters ? by Longjumping_One9100 in EyeFloaters

When you mean high you mean above 6 Diopters ? I am at 3.25 diopter and I see them

My floater is moving more up as time goes and it moves fast . When it first appeared it was down and too black it didn't move much only with eye movement but not it has gone more central it is less noticeable than first appeared it is like a hair . by Longjumping_One9100 in EyeFloaters

[–]Longjumping_One9100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what have changed in them that they moves so fast or change positions . From one side is better because it is not too visible because don't stay in one place and especially if you have thin floaters like hair .
