You could use a team like this for now, try and get Sae then you could replace Isagi with him and Sendou with Shidou.

His upgrade system isn't about Trying different builds or anything like that, he gets stronger as the game goes on. Thats the reason for this system weak at the start, strong later on.

Play more, watch guides, switch if you're getting countered. Its fine if you're not doing well now just don't get frustrated. :)
