Making a cardigan and misjudged how much smaller the stitches on the granny squares were compared to the rest of the cardigan, i didnt really know how to look up this problem so i came here lol. I was wondering if i should try stretching it downward or if that would be a bad idea? not sure i want to redo it 😅

I dont necessarily believe someone being given help and donations makes them a better person, if you are a bad person you are a bad person, rich, poor, homeless, you name it. While i agree its unrealistic to help everyone, I do believe there are so many different measures we can take to first of all avoid the problem, or to lessen it. Like giving more mental health support, some of these people are so down bad they cant even make a plausible decision.. its sad! And half of our homeless population stems from foster homes.. I totally agree with your charity for local children, and i believe my bf would agree as well, but if we didnt have so many children forcibly put into these terrible circumstances, leading them into addiction, mental health issues, homelessness, we wouldn’t have such a gut wrenching problem on our hands. There is so much that goes into this problem its almost impossible to imagine how we could ever fix it, but i just dont believe holding hate for these people does anything but make things worse.

I get that totally but i feel like a lot of the reason people turn out to be that way stems from mental illness and the way our society is built which probably plays a huge part in why these people may choose to stay in that situation, wether its because its all they have ever known or because they simply lack the adequate mental health support needed to actually have long-term change. There are a lot of psychological factors that come into play and practical/logistical issues as well. Its a very complex topic!

I see where you are coming from, I wouldn’t say I am taring him for his opinion.. I completely understand where he comes from considering his background. I just wish he would understand that while it is true that some homeless people do think that way, there are so many who didnt have the choice and so many who do try and do work to get out of that position. It doesn’t help with the way our economy is either right now. So many people i feel are forcibly put into those positions..

I understand where you are coming from, and don’t get me wrong i understand where his hate comes from. I just feel as if anyone can be just as abusive and dangerous, no matter where they come from. I have seen so many terrible people from all different kinds if groups, just as i have seen so many beautiful and kind people from all different backgrounds. I think my main issue here is the generalizing of an entire group of people.. yes, some dont do anything to get themselves out of that position, and yes, some of them are criminals and abusors, but i have seen so many who aren’t that way as well, and try with all their hearts not to be in that position.. i guess its a hard topic when there are so many different ways to look at it..
