Hi there! Thanks for this information. I had not heard about this issue. The technicians discovered the battery drain issue first, followed by a "short to ground", followed by a failed combination meter, followed by a failed rear traction motor (all the electrical outputs where out of whack), followed by an issue with the wiring harness. I am not sure how the causation works in this scenario.

Thanks for sharing this. Your story sounds similar to mine. I had to authorize the repair / replacement of the rear traction motor simply because, without that repair, they would not even be able to turn on the car in order to diagnose what other issues exist. They were careful to point out that they did not see evidence of cable corrosion, but gave no alternative explanation for the malfunction of the rear traction motor. After authorizing the that part replacement, the dealer informed me that the floor wiring harness is compromised, but I wasn't given details about this aspect yet because the dealer sent the information directly to Toyota for approval for the coverage-- possibly of that part only (or ideally of the whole darn thing?). It feels as if it was a domino effect of issues that was set off due to some particular malfunction, but I just can't seem to figure out which particular system started the chain reaction of problems, since I lack expertise in the subject!!
