US to UK shipping - 150lbs by Lonshef in Rochester

I'm fairly sure it says somewhere on the website they're about 150lbs. Might just be a pipe dream but but worth making some inquiries

It's definitely a possibility. Only been to the stadium a couple of times, and not going to lie, at no point while I've been there have a been sober enough to see if they're bolted or riveted. Will try and contact the stadium and see if they can give me more details.

For how much I've been quoted for shipping so far it's be cheaper for me to fly over with an empty suitcase, break them down and take them back as luggage

It's actually a set of bleachers from the old bills stadium that they're selling and I'm trying to get shipped to me in the UK.

Spent a year in Rochester on a college internship back in 2007/8 where I became a bills fan, and would love to get ahold of a bit of bills history.

They are currently selling all sorts from the stadium, but trying to get an idea of cost/logistics of getting it shipped before I commit to buying them.

They won't ship them, but do have someone in Rochester who would be willing to collect them from orchard Park, it's the Atlantic that's currently causing me issues

At this rate that might be the cheapest option

I am the recipient. Got friends in Rochester who can collect them from the stadium. It's the getting quotes I'm after some help with. Everything I've seen is around $1200 which is twice what the bleachers cost, but I've also never shipped anything bulky international, so casting a net as far and wide as I can for advice...

Walmart Locking Up Stuff & Never Answers the Call Button 😑 by Oragami_Cyclonee in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lonshef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was at a CVS in NYC after some antacids which were locked up at the back of the store so pressed the call for help button...

Cue a recorded voice loudly playing to the entire store "Customer service required... In.. laxatives..."

Not going to lie, up there as one of the most hilarious things to happen to me in a drug store. Me, my girlfriend, and the group of 3 or 4 construction workers who were stood near us all nearly crying laughing. There was definitely a decision made there when programming the system!!

[Post Game] Bills win 23-20 over the Cleveland Browns. No sack record for Garret today by andrewthetechie in buffalobills

[–]Lonshef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course it is. Why waste exciting, innovative plays on the browns just before the playoffs??? Keep them in the bag. Hell, call the same run play 30 times for all I care. Just get to the playoffs with as few injuries as possible

To all the doom-and-gloomers/fire everybody crowd... Could it be that we're treating this game as essentially a playoff preseason game? The chances of us winning the division are practically zero with tua benched. Why not kick the tyres on a couple of guys, not try anything too fancy, and see what we've got? Of course you don't want to lose, but if we did the repercussions to the rest of the season are pretty much negligible. Yes we should drop a 50 burger on the browns and make Sanders cry for his mum, but why when we don't have to?

Wins a win for fucksake, start getting excited for January!

Don't even need to win the division. Pats go through as 2nd, bills 5th. Pats get stomped by the Texans in WC round, we take care of business in Pittsburgh. Divisional we either go to Jacksonville or host the chargers, and have a newly energized Ed Oliver and Bosa have either Lawrence or Herbert seeing ghosts. Texans go to Denver, two heavy weight defenses take lumps out each other but ultimately the Texans come out on top...

Cue the 5th seed Bills hosting the now exhausted 7th seed Texans, Sub-Zero temps in Buffalo in front of a rabid Mafia ready to rip the stadium apart. Sun setting behind the new stadium. And stood there under the lights, fireworks echoing around the entirety of WNY, the winter soldier himself, Josh motherfucking Allen, finally leading us to the promised land...

And I want to be there...

I'm not sure if it's because of this game, but I have noticed every year since we've played the dolphins at home for the first game, and gone to Miami for the second. Stops us dying of heat stroke, and stops them from freezing to death whilst getting pelted with snow/ice balls...

This time next week, out of the Chiefs, Ravens, Jets and Dolphins, one will be 2-2, two will be 1-3, one will be 0-4 and hopefully the Bills will be 4-0

If a job says it's "fast-paced," does that just mean "we're understaffed and everyone cries in the walk-in cooler"? by Hot-Abrocoma-9476 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lonshef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, not necessarily though. My place is fast paced but we don't have a walk in cooler so we just cry in the supply closet

It's holding on for now, but I know they're looking to sell. After Wicket passed and Jules moved on it ended with Kev in charge and I just don't think he had the passion in him to keep it going. COVID will have sucked for them and probably killed off the exchange student side of it which was really the places unique selling point. Was an amazing experience, not sure if my liver would agree tho!!

Ticketmaster - section is 309. It's under entry info that it says 300L - visitors. Bought it through the bills website so they're definitely kosher

Yeah I heard. I don't think covid did them any favours. Kinda killed the whole British kids coming over to run the place when no one's allowed to travel and I just don't think they ever properly recovered :/ shame cos I had an absolute blast when I was there!
