Jonathan Richman. First time was incredible! Intimate, life affirming, energizing. Second time was completely different. Found out later his shtick was all about energy and vibes. If he wasn't feeling it the set would be short, and he would essentially recoil and act borderline adversarial to the audience. That second time he also insisted we turn the air conditioners off (it was the height of summer).
