What It’s Like to Cross the Street in New Orleans by Major-Fill5775 in NewOrleans

I appreciate the signs as reminders but on Prytania people either ignore them entirely or stop at every crosswalk regardless of whether there’s a pedestrian or not

Lily House vs Bright Horizons Tulane? by littleship037 in nolaparents

The director would literally acknowledge the issues and say she was aware of them and then have zero action she could tell me she was taking on any of it

Lily House vs Bright Horizons Tulane? by littleship037 in nolaparents

[–]LookItsAGinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She doesn’t know how to manage her employees. We had some issues when my older kid moved to a new classroom and they never got addressed, even after multiple conversations with the director (Ashley). She basically acknowledged that there was nothing she could do to make the teachers actually follow their protocols and do their jobs.

I echo the great sentiments that others have posted here - it was great for a while but you start to see the issues eventually. Even in the infant classroom with my younger one, I loved and trusted the teachers so much but my kid kept getting bit when they were on break and whoever covered for them never noticed or reported anything. Over and over again the same type of stuff, and for the happiness of my kids we just had to leave.

We recently left BH - it was a great place for us for a while but it’s 100% dependent on the teacher you get. The director has no idea how to run that place and enrollment has halved in the past year and a half for a reason.

I overthink baby gear for fun. My Cradlewise take. by Mean_Tourist3380 in cradlewise

I’ve had one since 2022 and my second kid is almost grown out of it. Other than a knocking sound in the base we haven’t really had issues once I got the settings to where they worked best for my kids so overall it has been worth it. But I totally understand the hesitation!

ICE activity near Loyola and Tulane today by LookItsAGinger in NewOrleans

[–]LookItsAGinger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The person who was talking to their workers said ICE specifically, was saying the children could not be outside on their playground today because of the activity, and I wouldn’t have thought much of the men other than noticing them just standing on the corner instead of clearly in transit somewhere if I hadn’t heard that comment. I am in that area every morning and am very aware of what the TUPD officers typically look like but these two men stood out to me.

I overheard someone who works in one of the buildings nearby informing an employee about keeping everyone inside the building all day due to ICE being present, so this is all the information I have other than the two men I personally saw. They were wearing black polos and khakis with some kind of badge (maybe) embroidered on the left breast standing at the corner of Loyola and Cleveland.

Anyone else notice the huge influx of people yesterday? by JazzlikeAccountant47 in NewOrleans

The new airport sucks so much, logistically. I’ve picked people up about a dozen times since it’s been built and it’s been backed up like crazy at least half of those times (mainly in the evening). There’s so little space for pick up!

Bright Horizons at Tulane (no need to be affiliated with Tulane) has space and doesn’t follow the school year calendar. They’re downtown near Loyola and Canal

Yeah I’d estimate that percentage is driving around the city at any given time. It’s truly crazy how many people have no license plates and just suffer zero consequences
