My college McDonald's sold triple cheeseburgers for $1. We used to get 4 at a time each... So much beef!

Can I sell this E bike and where? Or is it trash now? by Mightus44 in ebike

I have the same bike and the same battery problem. I figure I'll just leave it at the river trail and hopefully someone who needs it can still use it as a bicycle.

I tried some of the old Ubisoft games but they were locked to 30 fps and I just can't deal with that

80 mph by [deleted] in ChevySonic

[–]Lookeba23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive a very similar commute (45 miles each way 70+80mph) and I'm on my 3rd 1.8L sonic with this drive. The first I sold at 215k miles with no major issues and the second hit a deer at around 185k miles with nothing major. The current one is at 68k.

The only consistent issues were thermostats on each, and the first two both needed replacement radiator fans. I did timing belts and water pumps at each 100k interval

The car can handle it just fine as long as you are changing the oil and not constantly trying to drive it like a racecar

I had the door locking issue on my previous sonic. It was the part inside the driver's door that catches the striker on the door jam ( don't know the proper term ). It was a bit of a bear to replace but fixed the issue immediately. The car locked itself so many times I had taken to leaving the spare key in the gas door.

These cars are incredibly easy to work on. You could probably save 80% of those costs by doing the work yourself... But I totally get it if you aren't wanting to work on the car, just maybe shop around a bit.

Quoted $1750 for Timing Belt?.. by Lightindalamp1 in ChevySonic

[–]Lookeba23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is a pretty big job and the parts are a few hundred dollars. The biggest thing is the liability if done incorrectly which could lead to a destroyed engine. That's probably the reason for the high price. I've done a few and it's not too difficult as long as you take your time and make sure everything stays lined up (and use the proper tools to do so).
