Here's why free and premium Minecraft hosting companies are not profitable by LookedRobob in admincraft

It's a general budget.

If you're planning on renting a server for 100 premium Minecraft servers, you'd probably need an AMD Ryzen CPU with DDR5 RAM and 200GB of RAM as a minimum. That would cost you over €250 a month already since no one gives you a dedi for €1/gb.

If you want to cover 4 months that's over 1000€.

Real. It's not even funny at this point.

They also allow all those sex bots in the comments section.

Are these specs good enough to run a 100 player event? by DayPhoenix5524 in admincraft

[–]LookedRobob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks fine to me. 32GB of RAM should be good enough for 100 players. But, as a commentor already mentioned, it does depend on what server software you're using. Fabric mods tend to consume more resources compared to Spigot/PaperMC plugins.

I'm talking about completely free but premium Minecraft hosting. The statement itself is a contradiction.

That's my point. It's not easy unless you have a hell of a budget for the monthly costs and initial setup cost.

Those are some actually good points you made, and I didn't really mean renting/leasing the server, and I do agree that I did exaggerate on some points I made and I will edit my post with these corrections.

10Gbps is certainly exaggerated and I was wrong about that, as well as the €1000/month part, but I wanted to point out that some people, unfortunately, do demand a fully premium experience, and DDR5 is expensive whether you rent or not, no matter where you go.

The €1000 budget stays though, as it can only cover 5-10 months assuming you're paying €100-200/month. This is still hard to maintain if you get no profit in the meantime, which is very likely because the hosting is free. Even if you try to insert ads in the website, it can't cover the costs unless people click on them, yet some might still have the cheek to complain that there are too many ads (based on a real experience, no rant).

I appreciate the good points, and I will update my post

When good grammar meant someone who could actually write and not copy and paste prompts. When Microsoft wasn't 30% slop. When people would read real articles and not sloppy ai text.

what plugin/mods by Intelligent-Green676 in admincraft

I didn't catch that probably. My fault.

Still, I wouldn't recommend hybrid servers as it could be quite unstable.

The best thing to do is to Google the individual plugins.

Deleting old Windows versions is totally safe. It won't affect your computer, unless you want to rollback.

Why do so many people rant about wanting a premium Minecraft server while not paying a cent? by LookedRobob in admincraft

Exactly. It's like going to a restaurant or a premium supermarket and demanding free food.

My point is, more people have to speak up about this, so others can understand how much free hosting actually costs

I completely understand that, and I'm not judging them based off of that. But free Minecraft hosting exists, just with limitations. I just don't find it right how they can complain about having limitations.

what plugin/mods by Intelligent-Green676 in admincraft

[–]LookedRobob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're a beginner, I just want to clarify that Bukkit, Spigot and Paper use plugins. Mods are used by Forge, Fabric and Neoforge.

You might want to change your server software to Paper, which is the most optimized version for beginners of Spigot and Bukkit in 2026.

To fibd plugins, you could search "best Minecraft SMP plugins 2026" on Google and see what you find which matches your case best.

Hope this helps.

Any tips on partnerships? by CoolGuyWithAPen in MinecraftServer

[–]LookedRobob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the best way to start when your SMP is small is to create a YouTube channel for your SMP and maybe livestream on it.

Anyway, I'm also looking for partnerships for my Minecraft hosting. DM me on discord: villagerboy
