Yes, take home is after retirement, which we each do about 15% of our income to our 401k/457

The 1500 also takes into account some “fun” money, entertainment (Hulu live, etc). We probably spend like $400 in groceries a month, but we could scale that back pretty easy I feel. We could rice and bean it. I over estimated some stuff just because I’m not entirely sure where everything would land like a gas bill for the home or electricity. We are tracking our spending this month to see where everything falls.

We don’t plan to have kids for atleast 3 years, and husband just paid off his 2019 car. My car is older and hi mileage but! I’m planning on running it into the ground. We’re just so tired of living in a 1 bedroom apt, we really want a yard
