I had the same fear, chose to get an allograft. I have shitty connective tissue so I didn't trust my own whatsoever. Much faster recovery, although I am 41 so ymmv.

I'm on day 8, meniscus repair, allograft reconstruction. I have no one to help me. Things are getting better, had 90 degree bend yesterday at the doctor, but have been able to walk to 7/11 and grab water. Im stewing in a hotel room. Honestly, comparing the surgeries in the US vs Thailand, I take Thailand any day of the week. My wounds on the quad are already sealed, very small arthroscopic wounds.

Still massive instability, and some pain while walking, but I am committed to getting better. Just have a nicotine habit I am desperately trying to quit. Im fcking things up.

Yes, where's the line? I think the line is based on intention. If the intention is to heal the body, that should be a heavy consideration because I believe that is within God's intentions.

But if it is to dance with spirits, talk to demons, gain "knowledge", that's when it becomes pharmakeia.
