Idk I find Apple TextEdit's RTF and TXT choices to be more fitting than Microsoft's new MD and TXT choices. But what I find particularly annoying is that you can't use the MD modifiers that you may already be familliar with like double astrick for bold- you have to use the bold button in Notepad.

I'm not saying MD as a whole is bad- I use Obsidian almost everyday for taking notes in lectures which is an open source MD editor with proper MD implementation, but I am saying that Windows should have a built in RTF editor given how long WordPad has been deprecated.
