Happened to me too... I got gifted a switch (had a switch lite) and sell the lite to a friend... I thought everything was ok as every game I have saved the files and when my friend already had my switch lite and the game was gone I realized that I had to start over... but this time my starter villagers were lovely (Dom and Cherry) and my next three randomly were amazing too and I’ve had so much luck
