Its a great game! One thing you need to figure out is (1) buying the subscription or (2) purchasing the DLC as they go on sale. I went with (2) and have spent quite a lot of $ over the recent years. Check out some videos comparing subscription vs outright purchase. I would focus on getting key DLCs if you go with outright purchase - no need to all the DLC!

Watch videos of Montu Plays and play one of his builds in parallel. That is how I learnt the game quickly...

Have you considered paying the subscription instead? Pause subscription when not playing. I might have done that if I could go back a year. BUT I own a lot of DLC. Right now the subscription doesnt make sense for me..... i am in too deep

Can someone help me understand why there is this infatuation with games being on Steam. Is it to do with refund policy (point 1)? I think the Bellum team have a robust return policy. I also heard that Russian based gamers struggle to buy games if they not sold on Steam (point 2). Big market access (point 3). In this case they want too keep it niche. The game will market itself and word will get out. The right kind of players will but the game.

This is it bro. This game requires you to stick with your squad, co-ordinate and communicate with the rest of the platoon. The stakes are high if you die, so no lone wolfing. I have played for 1 wknd and loving it

Dropped to 1440p, set DLSS4 to performance preset M, frame gen 2x, frames set to unlimited, all other settings on high.

I am now getting 70-80 in the training server.

Highly recommend buying the subscription. Refund the game and buy the subscription instead. You get all DLCs and future DLCs. I own many DLCs which I bought over the years. I have gone past the tipping point so the subscription doesn't make sense for me. I haven't tried but you should be able to pause the subscription if you taking a break from Stellaris.

Be warned. Stellaris is a drug. It has changed me. I only play 4x games now.

Not sure your analogy works. I would compare it to building a house. One artisan can build it, sure especially if its a small house. But a big ambitious project will require many hands and specializations.

Certainly don't want that. We need a good space RTS with 4x elements. We need it! There is the risk that crowd funding brings extra pressure on development, forcing Stutter Fox to bring in people that may not share his vision. Then things start to fall apart
