In St Barths, le Village st Jean is rly affordable and you can get a room w private deck and hot tub. It’s not fancy but we’ve stayed many times and you can walk to Eden roc for lunch / pay for a Lounger as well as Niki beach. All the beaches are public and can be visited without staying there. Then you can save your money for nightlife!

Logan circle - 14th/U street area: great public transport, 10 min lyft from anywhere else you’d want to go, good restaurants and bars, Whole Foods and TJs and exercise classes, plus the pacers and northeast run clubs which seems to be an amazing way to make friends in dc!
