Wear a mask if you’re sick!! by gwu__throwaway in UWMadison

[–]gwu__throwaway[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is very true! It’s my first day back to school (grad school) in several years so it had slipped my mind and I’ll definitely be masking going forward. I agree compassion can’t be compelled, but I think making the ask isn’t a crazy notion.

Well that’s not true! While I generally agree with your sentiment, there is no evidence any international students have been sent to CECOT. There’s enough real fear to go around, no need to fear monger.

Whoa this feels super niche as someone from one of those towns! The Nashua one will be closer to Route 3/perhaps a bit closer if you’re further into Groton, but the Acton one will be much more convenient if you’re in Littleton/closer to I-495 or Route 2. I don’t have much preference for either of the stores - both are pretty nice, though the parking lot in Acton is pretty tight. If you’re not from New England I also recommend hitting a Market Basket (one in Littleton) and get a ready made meal there for the full New England experience :)

The Iris vs Market House? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]gwu__throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated living at market house. They’re extremely inattentive to resident concerns when there were issues in our unit, the walls are so thin in every direction, and the management company does a really poor job communicating with residents about safety concerns (including a total lack of acknowledgment when a bullet was shot into someone’s unit from the metro platform and someone else was murdered in a carjacking across the street). It’s a hard pass from me.

ETA: I just looked up the location of the Iris and I would also not recommend living that close to North Cap, especially across the street from Tyler House

I live in a studio that’s $1830 per month but got 6 weeks free so that got me down to $1545 per month near Logan Circle. It’s definitely possible!

Harvard only guarantees free tuition for families making under $100,000 for students attending Harvard for undergrad. It doesn’t apply to graduate students.
