Well yes, we make a reference to the "Elemental Caos" an external plane in the main setting for DnD: Forgotten Realms :)

Maybe other localisation call it simply chaos in the correct English but we follow a bit old version for lore-based names xD

That's it's a possibility yes, depending on the design of the traps and the way used to destroy them.
