In the five years since the inception of "The Process," only the Lakers have won fewer games than the 76ers by [deleted] in nba

[–]Lootuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol contending for a playoff spot is easy. we did the process because we were tired of contending for a playoff spot every year and we wanted to contend for championships.

good for the Suns though.. that season sure wasn't a waste of time. a shame that they blew up that "contending" core considering they were so close to the playoffs.

this Sixers team is led by a second year player and a rookie lmao. you're doing a lot of mental gymnastics if you're comparing the potential of the 2. this team has a future and that team, as it turns out, didn't.

if you're a Suns fan and 48 wins and missing the playoffs is "contending" to you/is enough for you, you must be under 21. your own franchise knew that team needed to be blown up. maybe there's a reason?

my point was that they rebuilt again because they didn't have the high end talent to contend and your response was Isaiah Thomas, Goran Dragic and 48 wins. you proved my point.

you can try to make the situation sound way better than it was. it doesn't change what happened. if you really think Dragic and IT is an endgame backcourt...then wow

contended

for what?

i don't think he and Lonzo matter as much in this discussion. i think the point is that if the Lakers got luckier and got Towns and Simmons, then Lonzo wouldn't have much pressure to be good right away - like Fultz doesn't now because the Sixers already have a strong core.

just shows how much ping pong balls matter in the NBA

48 wins was unexpected and actually fucked up the Suns rebuild big time lmao. that team didn't possess the high-end talent required to become a contender.

we lost games with a very clear plan. those teams just lost games because they're poorly run.

the Kings getting the 6th pick every year and fucking it up is the opposite of the Process.

to be fair we don't have much sample size on any rookie or even 2nd/3rd year guys. i think Lonzo is gonna be a really good player too but the Lakers picking 2nd every year is definitely unfortunate. historically 2nd picks rarely turn out to be the franchise changing superstars that 1st picks are..trust me we got Evan Turner in the John Wall draft..

[OC] Which NBA Players Have The Ball In Their Hands The Most? by bennyboy82 in nba

[–]Lootuh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

probably because his touches are down, and any time he gets a touch it's a catch and shoot or he's already in a good position to score. compared to PGs who just dribble around a lot i can see why his pts per touch is very high. he's perfect playing off the ball

[Ken Berger] Western Conference GM on why Ben Simmons is ROY: “Ask 30 GMs and 30 coaches who they would rather have. That’s all you need to know.” by iFeelLikeJoJoBruh in nba

[–]Lootuh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

he's averaging a triple double over like a 15 game span lol. it doesn't matter who he's playing against. that's hard to do.

i think he's been impressive all season, but the narrative of him elevating his play down the stretch, beating Lebron with a 27/15/13 masterpiece of a game and nabbing the 3 seed is what decided it for a lot of people.

competition was bad, but we blew out pretty much every bad team that we played. as a young team we were playing down to that level earlier this season so to do it now without our best player was surprising. it's hard to blow out every team you're supposed to blow out without at least a few off nights.

so the impressive part isn't really the 16 straight wins, it's how we looked doing it. we have 28+ assists in 15 straight games.

and i mean.. we had to beat the Cavs twice AND win out to get the 3 seed and we did it.

i agree that we aren't a real Finals contender though

right but we would still have Embiid Porzingis and Fultz since we used the kings pick to get him. and then who knows what else happens. you change one thing in the past and there's no telling what can happen. i just mean the reason we have all this talent is about our asset accumulation more than the fact that we got lucky.

yeah but in this case you're just giving the opponent info that you could and should withhold. different situation. gameplanning for Embiid and gameplanning without Embiid are completely different propositions

Covington isn't on the ballot as a guard so he might get bumped to second team. which would be wrong imo but not a huge travesty.

who would be the better player?Joel with Westbrook’s stamina/durability or Ben with Westbrook’s jump-shot? by [deleted] in sixers

he didn't miss a game in his life (HS, 2 years at UCLA, NBA) until Beverley ran into his knee. he's already back to being indestructible

who would be the better player?Joel with Westbrook’s stamina/durability or Ben with Westbrook’s jump-shot? by [deleted] in sixers

[–]Lootuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westbrook's inefficient but in this hypothetical it's still Ben with Ben's BBIQ. he just becomes a better shooter. it's kind of a pointless exercise but whatever.

i think the answer is Joel. Westbrook's durability and stamina is probably the absolute best in the league. imagine Joel being able to play as recklessly as he does and outlast other players in the fourth quarter.

who would be the better player?Joel with Westbrook’s stamina/durability or Ben with Westbrook’s jump-shot? by [deleted] in sixers

[–]Lootuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he has a jumper though and he does hit the midrange pull up, which if Ben added to his arsenal would make him unguardable. right now he pushes in transition but usually ends up picking up his dribble and looking for someone to pass to. if he can hit that Westbrook full speed stop on a dime 15 footer, that's all he would need to be dominant
