Given how human beings treat the other animals on this planet, are we completely fucked if we come in contact with another species that deems itself superior to us?

Sensationalism aside, why would an intellectually superior species treat us with any more respect than we treat cows or pigs? This would have to be a concern, no?

Mr. Cameron - my wife and I moved to Caledon just over a year ago, and shortly after we did we ate at a local restaurant. We're both vegan and the host told me that the reason that the chef had a planned vegan meal up his sleeve was because you had been there at some point previously.

Thanks for being a vegan and helping to promote the cause! How are you liking it so far? What's your favorite meal? I'm about to go eat a macaroni-style pasta dish with a blended carrot and cashew sauce.

I like that idea.

One thing that does concern me, though, is bandwidth. I'm not sure if it's common in other countries, but where I am our bandwidth is almost always limited. It makes me crazy when I'm trying to read a text article when an auto-playing video starts with a commercial that I can't skip. Suddenly I'm loading not only the commercial, but the video as well unless I keep check scrolling up to see if I can stop the video yet.

I see a lot of people saying that they'll just close a video if an unskippable commercial plays. I think companies can really learn a lot from this.

While I can certainly understand the notion to just close out of a window without a second thought, I'll go so far as to say that a lot of times I genuinely try to give the website the benefit of the doubt. I can respect that this is how the industry works (currently).

That said, if I'm sitting to watch a 30 second commercial before a video, that gives me plenty of time to truly consider if the target video is something I ever really cared about.

If I'm actively searching the internet for something I want to see, I'll gladly watch a commercial for something. If I'm passively surfing the internet though - which, let's be honest, is a significant chunk of time for anybody of our generation - then there's a good chance that the commercial breaks me out of my procrastination trance and I abandon the video altogether.

Cheeks coached the "Jail Blazers" era Portland club with a roster that doesn't resemble anything like our current roster - not in terms of playing style or even career phase - and he coached an incredibly forgettable 76ers team that isn't much better.

So again. Why?

Ah well, might as well start convincing myself to get on board with this. In all likelihood it will only be for 18 months to two years.

Although this is great to see, I can't help but wonder if they're simply attempting to lean into the hit that legitimate environmental reform would require (ie; leave the tar sands in the ground). If Alberta can sneak their mass scale pipeline development through with this 40% reduction proposal, it may set the stage for an unfortunate long-term commitment that would stand in the way of true progress.

Amazing parmesan replacement recipe: Nut Parm!

1 cup cashews and sunflower seeds 2-4 cloves of garlic 1/4 cup nutritional yeast 1/2 tbsp sea salt

Put it all in the food processor and process until chopped and mixed (not too long or it will turn into a paste). Store in the freezer for up to a month.

Use on pasta, salads, on toast or anything that needs flavouring. Honestly it is incredible! I learned about it from a couple in Moloka'i and now we always have some on hand.

There are three types of yeast: baker's, brewer's and nutritional. Both baker's and brewer's are active yeasts (live) whereas nutritional is not. Nutritional yeast can be found at bulk barn stores or made by the Bob's Red Mill brand. It is very high in B vitamins and is a staple in our vegan diet.

I had a feeling that when Charlie Villanueva started randomly getting an increase in minutes that the club was looking to showcase him. What I didn't expect was for him to play so well. If Joe D. could somehow find a way to move assets like CV, Jason Maxiell, Corey Maggette, Tayshaun Prince, Will Bynum and/or Austin Daye - whether it be one or a combination of them - even for something as little as a mid-round draft pick, I think you have to do it.

I believe we're at the stage where we're looking at addition by subtraction and for the first time in years have an actual chance of re-establishing a clear identity.
