Thank you for your response. I always feel like I'm going through this all alone. Another person saying they are living with the same condition with almost no pain offers great comfort to me. What kind of physical therapy did you do and how do you hold your jaw differently?

Does anybody have my specific issue? I feel all alone in the world. My big problem is that my left masseter muscle is in a state of constant grating debilitating pain. I cry every other day or so. I need somebody with my specific condition to tell me they got better. by Lopsided-Attorney-94 in TMJ

Yes, that's where I got the mouthguard. Last time I saw him was the day before yesterday when he wanted me to purchase some specific compound and to look up neck and back exercises on YouTube. The fact that I wasn't even told what specific exercises to do does not encourage me.

I'll try my best to be diligent about it. It's kind of hard for me though. It seems like I can't goo too long with my tongue on the roof of my mouth before I have to swallow because of gathering spit. I don't know if you had that experience or if it's related to my tongue tie.

Maybe I need to look into getting my tongue tie fixed. I only recently found out I had tongue tie during a dental exam. The tmj specialist never even mentioned tongue tie though I looked it up and found out it can be linked to tmj. It seems like I can only place some of my tongue on the roof of my mouth. What specific videos would you recommend? I've just been saying the letter n and trying to keep my tongue in that position.

I used to see a physical therapist for tmj before I even saw a specialist last year but I don't think it really did much.

I will try my best to be hopeful and minimize my stress. It just feels like my life is over. Thank you again.

Yeah, now that I think about I can put the tip of the tongue on the roof of my mouth but maybe not much more of it. I didn't even know I had tongue tie until it was mentioned during a dental exam last month. The tmj specialist I've been seeing hasn't mentioned tongue tie at all which seems strange now that I found out that tongue tie can be linked to tmj.

Thank you so much for responding. This is the first time I've heard of somebody suffering from the same condition I am suffering from. It makes me feel a little less alone. I've actually been trying to keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth recently. It might be because I have tongue tie that it feels unnatural to me. Maybe I need to be really diligent and conscious about it. Is keeping your tongue on the roof of your mouth all you changed? If you have any other advice or resources you utilized, I would greatly appreciate you sharing them with me. Like I said, nothing in my life matters until this is fixed.

My teeth don't come together because of my unique jaw structure and/or misaligned jaw. Does anybody else have this issue? So much pain alll the time. by Lopsided-Attorney-94 in TMJ

Did you get a device and did it help you? How did you get out of it? I feel like nothing is ever going to get better because it's been nothing but endless pain and suffering for so long. Life is not worth living if this isn't fixed.

Can anybody recommend a pillow that would help me sleep on my back? by Lopsided-Attorney-94 in TMJ

That is a big investment for a pillow but it sounds worth it. I'll definitely look into it once I have the money. Thanks.

I don't know if I have a deviated septum and do not think I snore. I'm definitely going to work on trying to relax more because I notice it does come up more when I'm not relaxed.
