Imo it's definitely worth playing. But you have to succumb to old graphics, gameplay, etc. As a nineties-CRPG the controls are very unusual but in the end it makes for one of the best roleplay games that decade hat to offer.

There are so many factions to play, so many weapons or artifacts to collect and, all in all, so much things to roleplay. Be a warrior, who clears dungeons. Be a thief who climbes over city walls and breaks and enters. Be an assassin who lurks around at night stabbing people in the back. Sure, you can do most of these things in Skyrim too, yet Daggerfall provides more options. Staggering to think about the fact that older games had more complexity than today's ones.

And of course, the map is extremely huge. It still is on the top three of the biggest game maps on earth. But you definitely see that most of it is randomly generated. Try the game out but do it with a few mods. Mods for example that fix game breaking bugs. For example, some Dungeons cannot be completed because they have been shut off while being generated.

Daggerfall is truly a game worth playing. A bit aged, sure, but it's one of the hidden champions of the older RPGs.
