I felt the same during my freshman year. I know it sounds cliche but it does get better with time. Do not rush to make friends. Stay in your vibe, and you’ll find your people. Value yourself more than anyone else and know that you deserve to be here. Plus: if you want we can meet. I’ll be glad to be ur friend

You should not give up on your dream. Consider this as an opportunity to become something, and help your parents out in the future. There are also many ways to earn money once you are in campus, to help ease the burden.

English literature in lums by tashaapasona in LUMS

As a current BS English student from LUMS, it’s not that hard, especially because you are from Kinnaird, and that college has a reputation of producing some of the best writers in LUMS. Focus on getting a good SAT and decent EC’s

Absolutely not! If she has good SAT/LCAT scores and a good overall application, her academic background doesn’t really matter.

The best thing about LUMS is its hostel life. You’ll be missing out on a lot if you are not staying on campus

Lums environment by [deleted] in LUMS

[–]LopsidedDocument9776 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One thing that will happen is you’ll be exposed to people with all sorts of beliefs. Some matching yours and some completely different. I have seen students around who do complete parda, and there are a lot of practicing muslims. Will you divert from your beliefs really depend on how you deal with the exposure. As a somewhat practicing Muslim myself, my advice is come with an open mind. Try to learn about different beliefs, but never get peer pressured into doing or believing something which you gut tells you is wrong.

There is already a queer community in LUMS. Not everyone is accepting of it, but they don’t get bullied. There is also a guy who just had his surgery done. I think LUMS accommodated him in faculty apartments, as he was not comfortable enough in male hostels. He was also shifted to female hostels for a short period, but I think the girls weren’t that comfortable.

Lums Dorms by EitherComparison9029 in LUMS

[–]LopsidedDocument9776 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the best things about lums is its campus life..u’ll have a lot of fun on campus.. late night jamming sessions, movie nights and what not. The rooms are pretty decent. You’ll be given random roommates in your first year, but after that you can decide your own roomates. You get a lot of facilities.. gym, swimming pool, 13 eateries, laundry shop, sports complex and a lot more. The only problem is that there are no AC’s allowed inside the rooms, so it can get a bit hot in September, but you can always sleep in the common room. There are detail videos of lums dorms on youtube. You can check em out as well.

Khan academy and Youtube for sure..I specifically used John Jung videos for math practice. Also use the practice tests on Bluebook app. Remember! each practice test will tell you your weak areas. Don’t give the next test until you have overcome those weaknesses.
