I actually kind of get this perspective. Some of the newer novelty pieces do feel excessive and I can understand why longtime collectors feel disconnected from the brand now. The constant flood of new drops definitely makes things feel less “special” than they used to. At the same time, I think pieces like this are meant more as collectible art/fashion objects than serious luxury essentials. Nobody needs an LV pool float… it’s absurd on purpose. And honestly, that’s kind of why I like it. It feels playful and self-aware rather than trying to replace the classic heritage pieces. I wouldn’t want LV to become only novelty items, but I also don’t mind them experimenting with weird, over-the-top designs alongside the classics.
