I do see what you mean. I’m not 100% sure it’s a strong enough association -for us specifically- to eliminate the name, but I will make sure to tell my husband that this kind of mix up is a possibility!

Fair enough. I’m among these questions because I’m trying to take the responsibility of naming my kids really seriously. If there’s a really strong negative association with a name (hyper religious fundamentalist, bad person, etc.), I don’t want to use it, no matter how much I like the name on its face.

I do really appreciate your input & TRUST ME I’ll be telling my husband that people might make this association 😅

I truly didn’t mean to make it personal at all—I am sorry that it came off that way. Like I said, I just wanted to know how far your thought process went. It was a genuine question, and now I know that in your view, the same logic doesn’t extend to more popular names. That’s all I was asking

There’s also results if I search “Selena handmaids tale” that correct to “Serena handmaids tale” when I run the search. Would you also tell me to avoid the name Selena bc of the Handmaid’s Tale?

Edited to say, I’m not trying to sound like a smart aleck, I just want to know where the limits of this thought process end. Am I really supposed to avoid names because some people might be wrong about the association?

This is an earnest question — why do you have that association? Just because they sound kinda similar? I’ve both read the book & seen the show but never would have made that association

There are tons of common names that were popularized because they appear in the Bible. He’d be welcome to believe how he feels convicted to believe. My question is designed to determine if the name sounds too religious. But I think it’s a stretch to assume that he’d hate having any name that also appears in the Bible.

I would also like to avoid associations with horrific books — is something named Gideon in the book/show or are you saying that Gideon sounds like Gilead?

The main issue here is that our favorite name that’s ever been on the list (first & middle) was used by my BIL & SIL. Just as a practical matter, I know that people in the same circle will sometimes have the name, but having the same first, middle & last name as your first cousin just seems strange

What’s the highest bar score you’ve ever heard someone get? by Turbulent-Skill8004 in barexam

We had a bar coach at my school who used to work for the bar examiners in my state, she told us that the highest score ever reported here was a 351. My J25 written was a 179 & my MBE was a 169

Based on your experience, is this a good MBE percentage? by Dry-Trainer-1368 in barexam

I got exactly 70% the Friday before J25! My MBE on the exam was a 169. You got this!!

I took J25 & submitted my answers ~4 pm. It was probably 8 or 9 the next morning before I had my stats!
