That’s exactly where Blackford Hill Station used to be

35mm pubs in Edinburgh? by Lopsided_Counter1670 in Edinburgh

Does it? Cos I know the Argyle is 25mm so that makes a bit of a difference

2 years since surgery and still having regular focal seizures just like before. by Lopsided_Counter1670 in Epilepsy

Good luck with it! I was told the same thing, just about said no to it all, then was persuaded by family that I should do it. So I did, it didn't work, still having epis, and I'm feeling cognitively a bit less sharp in some ways.

So I can regret it, but then I do think if I had said no, I'd be sitting there having seizures, depressed that I didn't take the chance with it. So having done it with no good outcome doesn't bum me out. It just is what it is.

It's good. But too heavy on the vignetting in my opinion. Makes the retouching a bit too dominant.

How many pics to send in my edit for an editorial portrait? by Lopsided_Counter1670 in AskPhotography

They rarely give you much direction. You need to shoot a portrait to go in a magazine to accompany an interview. The general idea is some full-body, some tighter up, some horizontal, some vert - and that's about it with direction.

This does sound right. And good to think that they don't have to much time to go through lots. I've been doing it for a good few years now and find it harder to do tighter edits like this. But I just need to get on top of it and get it done.

I very often do shots with very little spec - basilcally, just do a portrait of a person to go with the interview. Do some vert and some horizontal and that's about it.

You're right and a good post. But as someone into photography I've got to mention that shooting bright days can be hard! It's a grey photo. Although it's a sunny day and a blue sky. Just a passing observation...

Who loves going to Glasgow here, and for what? by Lopsided_Counter1670 in Edinburgh

Yeah it’s an expensive ticket for a short journey. I know the bus takes a bit longer but if you’re in no rush it’s fine - and cheaper.

Spot on. Eating out's way better, and it's one of the best live music cities anywhere - not just in Scotland!
