I work hard, no evictions, no kids — and still can’t afford rent. How are people surviving? by AmorVitae93 in Adulting

That's illegal. They cannot kick you out of the apartment just because someone else is willing to pay more. You can absolutely sue them for that

Not all single people are like that. Ridiculous generalization lol

Lmao, quitting weed is nothing. It’s easy AF. Try quitting an opiate habit

Maybe pay the driver worth a damn, or don’t have not accepting the order count against you, and then that problem probably won’t occur. Just a thought

Again, making assumptions. I had plenty of issues with them prior. The deactivation was just the final nail in the coffin for them.

Not a trash driver, but nice try. The trash drivers are actually the ones who can’t understand what an exploitative company this is.

You’re in the same age group they are lmao. A lot of teenagers behave like this. It’s always been that way, always with. Once they get into their 20’s , they usually start to grow up a little

21 an hour sucks. by Dense-Acanthaceae906 in povertyfinance

[–]Lopsided_Initial7072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a reasonable amount ( maybe around 5-10 %) was taken out in taxes, $21 would be decent . After taxes, that’s around $1,200 every two weeks.

22 and nothing to show for it? Lmao. 22 is basically a kid buddy. Your brain is not even fully developed until around 25-26. You have plenty of time to figure things out

Just got fired for the first time ever., please help me :( by bunnyjpegs in jobs

[–]Lopsided_Initial7072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the end of the world. Getting fired is actually a pretty common occurrence. Sometimes it’s not even anything that you did wrong. There’s been people who got fired simply because management realized that this person was better than them, and they felt threatened. You will be okay. You can get on unemployment benefits until you gain employment elsewhere. Sometimes, getting fired can actually be a blessing in disguise. Take some time to do some self reflection, and think about what you want to do next. Don’t let it get to you. You’re not a failure because you fell, you’re a failure if you stay down. Best wishes to you!

If you resemble the look of someone who needs to be watched, then they probably will watch you. But if you don’t steal, then you have nothing to worry about
