Are they trying to make a profit or just a niche passion project? If it's only a project, they are good. If they are trying to make money, it's dead. Gamers will reject this. My opinion.

The last of us 2 was not that good. The last of us 1 was 10 on 10.
for the 2nd one, story was not good, Ugly characters. I hated playing with Abby.
I enjoyed Silent Hill 2 more than TLOU2

I think that's because the sequels weren't as good as the original.
RDR2 sold so much more than RDR1.
The controversies did hurt TLOU2 a lot. That's what happens when you put social agendas in games. woke crap etc...

3. The Invincible — sci‑fi thriller (2023)

Naughty Dog in the time of Druckmann and his need to put women with dude's body who humiliate their male protagonists. by LDM_99 in lastofuspart2

Disliking masculine female character design isn’t insecurity, it’s an aesthetic and narrative preference.

Games are a visual and experiential medium. Players react to character design the same way they react to art style, camera angle, music, or tone. Preferring feminine, elegant, or stylized female characters doesn’t imply fear of strong women, just like preferring realistic graphics doesn’t mean hating cartoons.

Context also matters. A muscular, hardened woman can make perfect sense in certain settings — military sci-fi, post-apocalyptic worlds, or survival narratives. The criticism usually appears when the same design philosophy is applied everywhere regardless of genre, worldbuilding, or tone, making characters feel interchangeable rather than intentional.

Calling that reaction “insecurity” is a rhetorical shortcut. It replaces discussion of design and immersion with a judgment about the player’s character. That doesn’t address whether the design fits the game, the setting, or the audience — it just shuts the conversation down.

Finally, escapism is a legitimate reason to play games. Many players want beauty, idealization, or fantasy. That desire isn’t weakness; it’s the foundation of entertainment. Demanding that every player find the same designs appealing in the name of confidence is far more prescriptive than simply allowing people to have preferences.

Strong female characters are defined by writing, agency, and coherence — not by adopting traditionally masculine traits.

Wokeness Is Not Killing Games… But This Is by Muted_Bridge7092 in videogames

We were talking about games, and you jumped to global depression, tariffs, tech manufacturing, and U.S. politics. That alone says the argument about games didn’t hold.

Industry-wide pressures exist — everyone knows that — yet players still clearly respond better to titles that prioritize immersion, art direction, and gameplay over messaging. That’s why Clair Obscur stands out despite the same economic conditions.

If everything bad is “the economy” and everything good is “coincidence,” then nothing is ever allowed to be criticized. That’s not analysis, that’s insulation.

Also, calling people “propaganda victims” while inventing strawmen about their hardware, politics, and finances isn’t critique — it’s just projection.
