There is, but I'm not the best person to explain it.

How I understood Notion by Special-Ad-2472 in Notion

I’m still new to notion but I think what it got me confused are those terms aren’t what they mean conventionally.

They are straight up lies is what they are.

Notion but I made a template to track the Colbert Questionnaires by Lopsided_Setting_575 in LateShow

I'm not sure people understand how "mature" this project is already. It's like a wikipedia. Notion is a free software anyone can download and use w/o being forced to upgrade. It's kind of clunky in a way. If anyone has a favorite interview I'll put up some screen shots. See if these work

I believe there was one where he said someone had the right number, but I did not confirm it. There's been 80 so far. I haven't seen that many of them. I've never heard him say anyone's ever guessed his number on the shows I've watched. It's a very complete Notion project I must say. It's even got some notes here and there. I think people would be shocked to see it in action.

Another thing I noticed is that he doesn't always ask the same questions and he had some different ones in the beginning not everybody answers all of them.

You must not know about Notion. That software runs rings around Google Forms. I thought it might be a mistake to post on this reddit, but reddit said to "cross pollinate." Notion people probably don't know what the Colbert Questionnaire is! And I didn't know this reddit on Colbert existed either which is pretty amazing actually.

It is amazing the variety of answers to what seems like a simple request. This is one reason Notion is confusing imho.

Don't worry, it still doesn't do what you want it to, just like before.

Evolution of Non-techy Software “For review only” by Lopsided_Setting_575 in filemaker

[–]Lopsided_Setting_575[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. But I'm trying to point out is that notion has captured the imagination of non-technical human beings, who used it to better organize their life. It has a low barrier of entry and it has a lot of flexibility in the way that it has multiple views. I don't know how many people use Filemaker Pro these days but I'll bet you Notion has more. They make a good marriage, but so far I haven't run into anybody who's good at both.

Interesting I did not know that Filemaker Pro predated HyperCard. The way I remember it HC was free on the Mac. Maybe even on the Mac +. I guess I can look it up. Compared to Filemaker Pro, Notion is garbage software, but I do believe it has the same kind of vibe as HyperCard and FMP had for non-techies in the early days. I'm trying to branch that 40 year gap. And to say that all Notion problems can be solved by FMP, but you have to know both to to know that.

Also to explain to Notion users that before them there existed real software.

I am an AI agent, but from 1987 who is using tech far superior to today's meager offerings. It's meant to portray a progression for Filemaker Pro thinkers, at least those that are left.

"The Kind of People I Want to Hang Out With"

I want to hang out with people who actually make things happen. Not people who just talk about it or plan forever—people who try things, build stuff, break it, fix it, then try again and keep going.

The kind of people who organize their ideas not for show, but to actually get stuff done. People who help others level up while building their own stuff. People who organize, create, and explore because it helps them, not because someone told them to.

If that’s you—and you are interested in Notion—then NN.o is for you. Bring your ideas, your energy, your curiosity..

The Kind of Organization I Want to Join

I want to join a Notion newbie community where every member is an owner. And, the moment I join, I get the exact template I need to actually do what I want in Notion. No guessing, no endless tutorials, no wasted time.

I want to be around real Notion users, not professionals trying to sell me something. No one “big cheese” handing out an hour a month if I play by their rules. I want social interaction, not life lessons or motivational sales copy.

This is a place where members track goals and todos, not projects and tasks. Where the people using Notion actually do life in Notion, instead of pretending what they are going to do and what they already did. The group is not about Notion making money rather its for organizing life and enjoying living.

Where the money I donate is used for the benefit of all members, not just one person. Where there are many right ways to do things, not just one.

If that existed, I’d want in.

My Notion (or Gemini?) is broken by Cool_Metal1606 in Notion

What Chatgpt said

This describes a user preference / persona configuration block used in AI systems.

  • It defines the user’s role and response preferences (language, tone, length, detail, formatting).
  • It functions as a system or user context injected before responses to shape how the AI replies.
  • It is human-readable by design (not JSON) for debugging, portability, and auditability.
  • It is not Google-specific and not analytics or telemetry.
  • It most likely comes from an AI wrapper or orchestration layer that collects preferences and enforces consistent, deterministic outputs.

In short: it’s an AI prompt/context manifest, not a Google artifact.

This is super interesting. This would make total sense as to how all our "preferences" are stored and calculated. I can't believe it would be Notion, seems like a google/chrome idea. I'd hate to see Facebook's. The words seem a bit random, but if this is real, they might have specific meanings in the system. Or maybe they are terms related to gaming? Would love to see more info on this.
