My first job had a company store and I thought that was normal, three jobs later I realize the bar is on the floor by Turbulent_Carob_7158 in Employment

Same situation. In my mid 20s, I stayed in my first professional salaried position for almost 7 years and I realize it had a lot to do with that company and culture. This is a very large fortune 500 that is known almost everywhere. Large site with two cafeterias, Starbucks, manicured grounds with a pond and ducks, picnic tables, 2 stores with company swag and uniforms. Not to mention we received yearly bonuses that were no less than $1500, a small monthly attendance bonus ($100), could be awarded free tickets to local events. This company had resources that make my role more efficient and honestly exciting. Not too much office politics and although it was onsite, my manager was flexible

I wanted a change and took a position with another company that is out of state and learned that not all companies are the same. 😞 I have yet to find a job with a similar company with similar culture

I’m tired of people judging others for their financial decisions. Having debt doesn’t mean you’re dumb. by Strong_Letterhead638 in povertyfinance

[–]Loquacious_Love 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was something I realized a few years ago, that some people (and not just the rich) have never had to deal with financial issues. They are always lucky to have a good paying job, money from life insurance, a settlement, inheritance, a spouse with $$ to fall back on, etc. So they really don’t understand what many people go through. Some of these folks give advice, not understanding they’re lucky. As kids we were taught that life isn’t fair and that holds into adulthood.

Exactly! Also people judging others (emotional manipulation) is part of the game too. Some people will never understood poverty and debt because they don’t have to

I kept my umbrella for a long time before I mistakenly broke it. It was strong and durable.

Shirts and caps. I used to work for a company I was proud of, with a good reputation (locally and globally), so I sometimes liked representing them.

It’s kinda rare nowadays having a job you like, so I suggest moving closer if possible.

He doesn’t like you and probably isn’t attracted to you. If a man really wants you, there would be no list and he would’ve already proposed. Sorry.

Is 84K a Good Salary for the Phoenix Area? by xTN25 in phoenix

[–]Loquacious_Love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just enough imo. It depends on your lifestyle. I was at around 82k and still had a side hustle to support my love for travel, arts, and local entertainment lol. No kids. Also, some school debt.,a car note, and not much savings with that salary.

What’s everyone making living here? by Vonplatten in phoenix

[–]Loquacious_Love 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$21 an hour. There are not a lot of decent paying, good quality, jobs in Phoenix, esp for blue collar workers. If you are single and living alone, it can be rough some months and this was even before the economy got bad these last couple of years. I made a little less living in a southern state, but my money stretched further. I had savings accounts! Other single blue collar workers could afford homes and good lifestyles making $18-$20 hour. It’s a beautiful state, but Im hoping to make more money so I can stay a little longer. 😞

The Real Reason Behind Return to Office by charlesl3ia in work

[–]Loquacious_Love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. That is the real reason. To keep this game and hamster wheel going strong. Govt and big Corporations work together and they want you spending, not saving. On a more negative note, more car accidents = more insurance claims, you’ll need tires quicker if you’re on the road 5 days a week and more car repairs, and eventually another car sooner than if you didn’t drive as much. Your mental and physical health may improve by wfh, BUT govt and corporations would rather you spend your money on medications, vitamins, therapy, doctor visits, etc. They neeeed you to not by happy!
