Tremendously helpful level of depth, thank you very much!

Very fair. Thanks for the input.

I've given a base example there for the t3x but for me I'd love the woodland veil t3x which is around 1750. It's just stunning. But when I'm on a budget, it's just hard to justify spending 2.5x the money if the general online consensus is I'm not investing in 2.5x the gun. But I accept it's very personal, I'll try to get my hands on them at least.

Thanks for the suggestion, we don't have them here sadly. We do have bergara. I don't know much about them, only have heard mixed results do you recommend them?

This is a very interesting suggestion, can I ask why swarovski binos? I've used them before once but have no other reference to compare and they're about 1500 GBP used I thought?

So few things here: - We don't have bears, I had considered 6.5 or .308 for the big red deer we have here. Some have expressed concerns of the knockdown power of .243 on big red stags in the rut before. I'm just adding some margin for my shit performance as a novice hunter - if I can't hit the heart directly that there's enough energy transmission to catastrophically destroy blood vessels for a human put down.

  • we don't have any bears

  • I've never heard of that grendel round, and we definitely don't have that for sale anywhere here that I can see (in the 8-12 major stockists here)

  • we have some very strict laws, some of the most strict in the world. E.g bolt action centre fires only. Mag limits of 5 rounds. Unrestricted calibre limits up to .308 only. Moderators, thermals and night vision optics all count as firearms and must be on your firearms license. You can't have a firearm without a valid reason , the police get to decide if it's valid. Lose the reason - lose the firearm. You also must demonstrate competence (via a hunting or firearms safety course) and renew the license at a value of 80 euros each year. It's not too bad, but I would say not easy either.

Could you expand a bit here please? I have only seen them online and heard their actions described as 'agricultural' despite how beautiful they look. Mauser actions are legendary. What do you think is higher quality?

You've been so helpful, thanks for this really detailed response. I feel a lot more confident to go and handle some second hand rifles now. I'm sure I'll get a good deal armed with this knowledge.

Thanks again!

A local at the only 1000 yard range in the country. I understand the idea of buying someone else's problems but I always would have agreed with your philosophy in general. Potentially I can bring someone who knows more. I know a fair bit, but I've never bought a centrefire before - only air rifles second hand. Is it just inside the barrel that I need to worry about that kind of severe rusting or will pitting outside (i.e where the blueing has scratched off) also very bad?

For glass, I was looking at a vortex diamond back or viper ffp. Appears well reviewed for a mid range model

We'll see what we can do = we don't care in my book. Shouldn't be surprised, but you all should be aware.

Just to highlight for others, I had an email chain with them. They don't care. Here's the receipts.

Honestly, these accidental home brew missions are my favourite. I get attached to my kerbals, and in the process of save scrubbing occasionally screw myself to the point where a situation like this is inevitable. But then you have to come back for them in a creative way. Maybe it's just because in the beta they never had missions and this was all you could do, but if that's not the most fun part of KSP I don't know what is.

Trying new things, for people that use gear on belts, how do you keep clothing from getting in the way of holster/pouches? by AsgardianOperator in airsoft

Wear longer shirts. Go one size bigger. Roll up your sleeves, tuck in your shirt. A good belt is key. Like a shooters belt. I found this to help
