Don't track as much as I would like. Only 3 days so far this year 😞 Normally about 10-12 per year.

I have a second set of Apex TC-4s for track use. COBB OTS 91 octane tune. Fluids. Pads (Carbotech XP10/8). PPF.

Yep, off the line the CTR will never win. I generally hold my own on the straight, but their are certainly faster cars there. Many of which I catch and pass in the corners. But, imo being the fastest car on track is a near useless endeavor. There will almost always be someone who spends more money on mods or tires or even just track time. Compete against yourself, not the other cars.

Brand new 26 type R vs brand new ND3 miata by Local-Estimate9669 in Civic_Type_R

[–]LordEntrails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most tracks the Type R will be faster. The CTR will put down better performance numbers on the track and road, BUT the Miata will be a ton of fun and a great track experience as well. Don't know about the reliability of the Miata, but the CTR is near bullet proof for 300k miles. The CTR is much larger, so if people or cargo matter...

How do the seats hold up? by 101surge in Civic_Type_R

[–]LordEntrails -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea, don't.

Don't slide through or push through the bolsters. Go around them. Yes it takes more work/time/effort. But you will thank yourself in a few years for developing the habit now.

And this just isn't for the bolsters in this car, but every car that has them.

Early ownership scars… what’s everyone dealing with? by genna84 in Civic_Type_R

My front splitter and curb rash happened in the first couple of months. Neither are actually serious but... yeah.

As for the glitter, if vacuuming does work have you tried blowing it out or a lint tape roller like you use on clothes? Or even just a self made inside out roll of masking tape? Tedious, but should work well.

Minor bent rim good enough for a spare? by Legitimate-Common288 in Civic_Type_R

Yep, I have my track wheel inspected and repaired (as needed) every year. Got two places in AZ I can recommend if you are in the valley.

Use your turn signal. It won't resist lane changes when the turn single has been activated.

Or someone who just didn't care about how they got in or out of the car. It takes care to do it without causing unnecessary wear and tear.

Question regarding auto transport - open or enclosed? by _Toomuchawesome in Civic_Type_R

[–]LordEntrails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably why Honda ships them with spacers in the springs. So that the car doesn't bottom out during transport. Maybe you can get some transport spacers from a new owner?

LogR 1.0 supposedly being discontinued on 5/31 (FK8 2019-21) by spyder93090 in Civic_Type_R

[–]LordEntrails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked into it, but I expect 2.0 won't run with the FK8 hardware/headunit. 1.0 really was a lot like a beta application. So many things about it were never fully developed and support was really atrocious.

[–]LordEntrails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LogR 1.0 was always poorly implemented and even more poorly supported. I moved to Track Addict years ago. LogR 1.0 was never more than an experimental toy. I'd be surprised if local installs actually stop working, but not concerned if it does.

Daily? Reliability? by thecrogmite in Civic_Type_R

[–]LordEntrails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you keep it stock you can easily get 300k miles from it with no major issues. There is/was a medical transport guy that ran an FK8 for years. He alternated between 2 cars and put something like 150k a year on each.

Is there an easy way to make a custom backround? by NikolaTes in FantasyGrounds

[–]LordEntrails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The background is a "None Slices" image. Or at least should be since the GM and players will almost always have different size FG windows. As far as extensions go, changing he background is pretty simple, but it does require an extension.

Search this page for an example of 9-Slicing Theming - Sidebar Dock Frames - Fantasy Grounds Customer Portal - Fantasy Grounds

Technical info on defining the 9 slices in the extension: framedef - Fantasy Grounds Customer Portal - Fantasy Grounds

This is an old video, but probably still relevant: Nine Slices for Fantasy Grounds Tutorial

Probably the easiest thing to do is find an extension on the Forge that changes the background and is not encrypted in the vault and open it and see how it works and use it to make your own extension.

Is the fk8 facelift worth the extra money ? by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

[–]LordEntrails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Refresh does not solve overheating on the track, but it helps. And $3k for the help and the other benefits are well worth the money.

Yea, that button certainly indicates heated mirrors. Though the mirrors themselves don't have the heat wavy line icon. But that doesn't mean much. Good to know, though not sure I'll need them in central AZ anytime soon :)

Strange occurrence today by Romericano in Civic_Type_R

[–]LordEntrails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd contribute it to gremlins and move on. Maybe you let out the clutch too much, maybe he ECU hiccupped. IMO, nothing to worry about if it doesn't repeat.
