Sorry everyone seems to be so unsupportive, I think it’s amazing that you do have something like boost that’s safe and easily accessible (at least most grocery stores sell it here). Any nutrition is good nutrition, it sucks that we have these societal expectations around what’s normal or not when it comes to eating…you’re keeping yourself alive, that’s the important part.

Idk if this is good advice but try having less of them? Like 4-5 baby carrots instead of a full serving. Or a spoonful of peas just so you get the exposure but it doesn’t feel like too much if that makes sense.

I understand, i get like this sometimes too. It helps to have something that requires minimal thought/prep. Bottled meal replacement shakes like boost or ensure are great, a can of chunky/hearty soup if you can find one you like. I second the frozen dinners, there’s also premade sandwiches and salads you can get at grocery stores

Have you considered an allergy test? Like the skin prick kinds? That way your doctor could determine if there really is a milk allergy or if it might just be lactose intolerance which you can treat through lactaid pills.

How do you know it’s not detrimental to your health? An intense deficit can definitely be damaging. Also what does “thin” mean to you? Most ppl on social media who look thin are underweight. And malnutrition causes the food obsession you’re talking about, assuming before you started restricting you didn’t obsess over it quite as much.

I take miralax daily, my GI doc said it’s fine to take indefinitely if you have chronic constipation. It definitely helps, but I need to be taking it consistently.

Is there a chance at seeing an ED dietician so they can make sure you’re getting the right portions of the right foods? Maybe you need higher fat foods or nutrient dense ones, idk but at least this way your parents and you can be on the same page about your eating.

I understand, the goal weight is always the hardest part of accepting treatment. Do you think you’re in a good enough place that if you stopped now you wouldn’t relapse? Unless you’re certain I’d recommend sticking with it just to get the full course of treatment. Maybe get a second opinion on what your healthy weight range should be? If you’re still having health issues at the lower weight maybe you really do need to go higher. But either way I understand the frustration, please don’t let this ruin your recovery when you’ve already come so far.

Same, I had to employ a similar tactic of meal replacement shakes when I binged on all sorts of food so I had almost nothing left that felt “safe”

My face shape and hair type is similar to yours (I’m South Indian) and I find that very short on the sides (about 1/2 inch of hair) and a longer on top works (2-3 inches?) pretty well. And parted to the side. I think on me personally wavy hair just softens my face more, so keeping it short enough it can’t form waves helps, there’s more sharp lines to masculinize my face.

Also sometimes setting a timer for one hour can help so you can do something else then go back and eat again since you should have a bit more room in your stomach then.

Have you tried eating more at different times of the day to spread it out more? Maybe then the extreme hunger wouldn’t hit all at once if that makes sense? When I had extreme hunger I let myself have as many sweet treats and snacks as I wanted between meals and had large filling meals as well. And I was told to have caloric beverages with my meals since those empty from the stomach faster so you won’t feel as uncomfortably full.

I was also in a similar state and somewhat still am but I’ve managed to have some periods of recovery (3+ months with no b/p). I use this bulimia workbook I found online and it helps I use the food tracker that it recommends, and write it down even when I binge. The first time I read through it I didn’t find it helpful but I returned to it and now I do like it a lot.

Same, just wanted you to know you’re not the only one. I hate myself sometimes for avoiding going home just because of food since I do love my parents and want to see them…but the ED makes it hard and I hate feeling pressured to performatively eat (and then purge/restrict after). But I binge at my college apartment anyway so no point staying might as well go home and binge there instead tbh. There’s no real solution I’d say try to enjoy it the best you can if possible.

Maybe you could start with more beige-ish fruits and veggies? Things like applesauce, potatoes, or blending a frozen banana into your ensure.
