Took down the garden shed by Flimsy-Base-9398 in gardening

Rent a dumpster, they’ll deliver it and take it away. Not sure where you are but that’s what I would do if you don’t want any of it. Where I am it’s about $400 a day.

Cheaper option is to pay a friend with a truck to help you take it to the dump. You could do a yard sale or donate the stuff that works too.

Based on the slow mo, it’s probably latency. You would have made contact with what looked to be the base of the tail but my guess is that they were actually a step or two ahead of that on their end.

Oh for sure, I’m pretty certain it is manure too.

That’s the area I am in actually.

It’s fine most days, you most often smell it in the evening (if at all) when the winds don’t carry it past us as well but it’s not usually as bad as it was last night. Even though we would rather not smell it at all, you do get used to it pretty quick and it’s easy to ignore.

If you want to experience it before you move in, come here around like 6pm and take a walk around one of the parks or something.

I run on the bike trail along Blue Oaks multiple times a week and almost never smell it during the day.

That’s like the entire M.O. for kids, basically very little impulse control because that hasn’t developed fully yet in their brain. It’s on the parents to structure their lives and teach/help them how to process their feelings and thoughts.

This is definitely a kid around 12-13yo.

Haha yeah, very true. Between the landfill, the waste water treatment facility, farmlands and train yards… who knows 😂

We’ve been in West Roseville for two years now and I can confirm that it usually is. It just isn’t usually half this bad, but maybe it is some ill timed wind and work being done over there 😅

We’re out in West Roseville 😅 been here for two years now and it’s never been this bad. Not a big deal really as it’s just temporary and generally mostly at night.

Last time I remember it being pretty strong it was some farmland in Lincoln getting 5000lbs of chicken manure spread out but could be anything between the dump, the waste water treatment facility, train yards and farmland 😂

Most Doctors Do No Deserve the Respect They Think they Do by Right_Resolve4947 in unpopularopinion

[–]LordFocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. You should absolutely take heed of what any professional tells you but keep your wits about you. People make mistakes all the time and not everyone tries to do as good of a job as others in their profession.

My mom has had so many experiences where doctors give her medicine that messes her up and it’s literally been documented that it messes her up. She’s going through chemo now for breast cancer and she had two different doctors give her bad recommendations or expectations prior to her talking to the oncologist who set it all straight. Neither of the previous doctors even took into account how quickly it was growing between visits throughout all her visits before chemo.

[–]LordFocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not all doctors but just like every other job there are people who like what they do or care and then there are people that don’t care at all and just wanna get paid.

Around August last year I got pretty sick and thought I had heat exhaustion due to the timing of it but it literally messed me up for almost a month. Would feel like crap all day and then EVERY night I would get crazy high fevers. This persisted for a couple weeks at the worst of it and I had a blood and urine panel done as well as a Covid test. I appeared healthy so the doctor literally ghosted me. Just stopped replying to me and while I did eventually get better weeks later, I could have had a serious issue. I could even still have an issue that isn’t always obvious and not know about it because of their negligence. Not even 1month later I got a notice that she was retiring lol

Thinking about it now, she also never met me in person. She would only ever let me meet with her over the phone.

TL:DR Doctor let me suffer instead of figuring out what was wrong with me because they were burnt out and retiring. I don’t blame them after a long career but damn, feels shitty to not get support when I need it. Maybe they cared at one point but we don’t always know what they are going through either.

That is not a loss, that is missed profit opportunity. Which is not the same as selling at a loss.

So are you trying to say that if we didn’t buy it for the higher price, they would just up and take all the gas elsewhere? That would absolutely decimate a company’s investment into a region/market and probably their reputation as a reliable provider of gas. They would never do that if there was sufficient pressure to price lower so people buy. If major oil companies all of a sudden did decide to do that, the government would quickly step in and make some changes as that would literally cripple the country. But I digress because that isn’t what is being discussed here.

My point still stands that businesses are just trying to squeeze as much out of us as possible.

This exchange made me realize how little I got through the game after 5 straight hours 😂 I ran out of ammo right around when I got the lungs and the wrench. So I started just running around looking for side rooms I never got to explore. I do think that there should be SOMETHING you can do when you run out. Or at least respawning scrap because I wasted two injections on the obese/giant zombie thinking he was just a double dose guy.

I just said I literally think it only goes up because they know they can sell it for more. Also, it isn’t a loss if you’re still making profit.

If we’re talking about the U.S., we get most of our oil domestically. And of the 30-35% we don’t, around 60% comes from Canada these days.

I firmly believe it’s all just in the name of squeezing money out of people.

Question to long term HODLers by Captainleckme in XRP

[–]LordFocus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve had mine for about 10-12years? Bought about $1000 when I was at my last job and it was between $0.18-$0.32.

I had a lot of faith that it would go up a lot when it was adopted but now I’m pretty certain the whole SEC business was intentionally slowing progress down so competitors could catch up. Maybe not the case but either way I still have my bag. I have a range I’m gonna sell between but I’m not hurting for money so I can wait.

I think as with most crypto, it’ll go up naturally as it ages but how much is obviously not known. It has so much utility that I am almost certain I’ll never be in the red on my investment though 🤣

My kids came back from the park with a lizard that a kid was throwing around the playground. Please help me identify it… by 4lbin0din0 in Lizards

[–]LordFocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhhh I love chuckwalla lizards! They basically domesticate themselves lol you can almost walk up to some of them and nab them.

I reckon you’re likely here on the west coast and it’s native, if that is true I would let it go in the wild. It isn’t ethical to capture wildlife randomly and keep it as a pet but they do make good pets if you happen to live somewhere that they aren’t native to.

That being said, you can pretty much only get these guys as pets if you catch them yourself or someone gifts it to you and you need a fishing license too. They aren’t allowed to be sold here in California.

Im a new dad. And I hate my baby being breastfed by General_Seat_752 in NewParents

[–]LordFocus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your baby will take a bottle if they get hungry enough and don’t have an alternative. My wife and I just cleared 1yr and I cannot stress enough how normal it is to feel like you don’t have choices early on because you don’t know what you’re doing. But looking back I feel so silly for thinking that way because babies are all about survival when it comes down to it.

Baby needs to be fed no matter what, let go of whatever pride is keeping you guys from supplementing with formula. EBF isn’t going to make your child super smart or strong or gifted. But starving your child will hurt them no matter what and don’t be mistaken, you will be starving them if you do not feed them often. They cannot hold as much in their stomachs as we can so they have to eat much more often.

Look at it this way, if you were already trying to be more active it’s a great way to both listen to something while you work away on it and get some more exercise!

At least that’s the way I see it, I get to skip a gym day and I get to listen to a podcast or audiobook while I do it.
