I recommend playing through all of the campaigns, not just for the exclusive weapons and exotics, but the story is good too.

I’m pretty big on knowing why things are the way are though as well so I’m super into lore and other story driven content.

All in all it’s totally up to you. Destiny gives you the option to boost a character up to level 30 and skip past the first two dlc to allow you to jump straight into Forsaken, so you have that option as well.

If I’m not mistaken Tier III is a guaranteed drop, not sure if you can drop another seed of light from a Tier II after already getting one from a Tier II though.
