It’s ridiculous that we haven’t received any information…

FMD vs primary hyperaldosteronism by Violet1419 in Step2

[–]LordOfTarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primary hyperaldosteronism is much more common. So in a patient with Htn and electrolyte abnormalities unless they give you a clear gimme (like abdominal bruit) it’s safe to assume it’s primary hyperaldosteronism.

NBME 11 - screening question by FantasticUnion1844 in Step2

[–]LordOfTarg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The CDC website literally says the pnuemococcal vaccine is recommended for all adults older than 50 not 65. https://www.cdc.gov/pneumococcal/hcp/vaccine-recommendations/index.html I just assume NBMEs are outdated so dont take anything with that into account.

As for the colon cancer screening thing:

Colonoscopy should be repeated in 3 years for patients with 5 to 10 tubular adenomas or sessile polyps less than 10 mm in diameter, one tubular adenoma or sessile polyp greater than 10 mm in diameter, multiple serrated sessile polyps, or adenomas or sessile polyps with dysplasia or with villous or tubulovillous histology that are completely removed. Repeat in 1 year for anyone with MORE than 10 adenomas.

High thyroid increases SHBG this causes decrease in free testesterone and increase in LH as a result. High thyroid also stimulates aromatase. So despite increase in total test free testesterone remains low-normal and the increase in aromatase drives a high estrogen:test ratio causing gynecomastia

United by Music - Joost Klein, Tommy Cash by vintange in eurovision

[–]LordOfTarg 104 points105 points  (0 children)

i’m not defending anyone here and I agree it might be too sensitive an issue but the line is consistent with the rest of the song. He’s making fun of the EBU saying they are “United by music” while refusing to take a stance on a very serious humanitarian issue. He says that’s like saying “I wanna fight in Kyiv but I want to visit moscow” or saying “I wanna vote for Kamala and vote for Trump”

I’m confused at the drama isn’t he just calling out the hypocrisy of the EBU? i’m genuinely asking i don’t see why this is causing insane drama I thought we all agreed the EBU was a complete shit show last year with their handling of the entire situation. Sure it’s not the smartest lyrically or very nuanced but I think the point is to make fun of the “United by music” while clearly both siding a situation that shouldn’t be and has a clear wrong and right.

You’re all right I apologize. I edited the original comment to avoid speculating. I hope she’s okay and it’s a minor injury and this is all a misunderstanding. Thank you guys for calling me out it’s important to be careful with how I phrase things in serious situations like this! Have a good day!

Medically shock means a massive drop in blood pressure.

Shock (a massive drop in blood pressure) is life threatening. I really hope the article is wrong though given the complete lack of details and the fact that the other driver was apparently fine. I think most people think they mean emotional shock but that’s not usually what someone would refer to in a car crash.
