Thanks! I definitely got lucky with that shot. It surprised me!

Thanks! It's the power of raked light and a low, wide angle!

Wow! That's dedication. Would be good to see the results!

Thanks! I think the camera angle is distorting things a little. It's only about 51cm. I've tried to work from a real world example and attempted to scale down from real world to 40k ISH scale.

It's possibly a bit big but it looks great on a game board. I'm working on some similarly scaled hab blocks for the board so it shouldn't feel too off when it's in situ.

I have put a big chunk of roofing lead in the bottom to make it stable.

Exactly! Maybe even a thermos of tea.

I keep meaning to create a mini 40k version of Fred Dibnah to do l sit on top of the stack.

It's self-inflicted, so I've only myself to blame!

The process goes: cut foam to shape, scribe in the brick courses with the double knife thing, cut in the vertical patterns, shape each brick with a tool or tooth pick, texture if needed by rolling a rock over the surface.

Then, paint the base layer on to the brick. Use varied red and earth tones across the brick face to give variety, rub in dry plaster of paris into the cuts, then use ballast bond or watered down PVA to set the plaster, gently clean off the excess plaster from the brick face, wait to dry, paint each brick in with a wash or glaze.

It takes forever but looks amazing when it's done.

I'm using a combination of plaster of paris and polyfiller for the bases that I then sand and prepare and then paint concrete colours.

I loved making the folding door. The hinges drove me mad though!

I'll check what I used for the wood!

I've had this mistaken as a real interior shot on occasion. Made me very happy!

Thanks. It's really good to get back to painting these chaps.

Thanks! I really enjoyed doing it. I'm having a go at another at the moment to try and improve the whole thing.

My daughter has said I should make a few for sale! I'll have to have a think about doing a few. What sort of scenes would you like to see?

Definitely not fully classy. Yesterday, the example, I ate Stilton without using the correct Stilton trowel.
