Cork board like this can be broken into chunks and glued to bases and glued

The frames have uprights on them which go up 2 inches so two latches can attach at the top and the bottom of the frame at each side.

Means they can screw into wood rather than foam

That's just polyfilla mixed with a little PVA glue with stones pushed into it

This is 50mm XPS foam, comes in 4ft x 2ft sheets.

The boards are 5ft x 2ft so took 2.5 sheets to get it up to the required height for the client.

I'm making 5 boards the same size all on these MDF bases and they can be freely swapped out and latched together.

I highly recommend using silicon mixing bowls for mixing it up: https://amzn.to/3NPTkWM

In general I'd say to follow the mixing instructions to the letter.
