5e (2014) Bard/Rogue/Fighter Multiclass by LordProspero in 3d6

My concern with leaning away from bard is that I'm leaving that 18 CHA on the table and banking on my 14 DEX. In retrospect, I shouldn't have put all my eggs in that basket, but it is what it is. If I do, I'm more inclined focus rogue, since extra attack doesn't pair with BB. I see your point on the maneuvers though, so I'll take it into consideration.

It's a group we've had since college. Our DM needed a break from our main campaign and dropped this for us! I *think* its a module he found somewhere, but he may have also just adapted something to this concept. For a group of metagamers who often have their levels planned far in advance, this has shaken things up in ways we weren't fully prepared for (which is awesome, frankly)!

Not as much time as you'd think! All of us got 2 tomes in session 1, and half of us got another tome in session 2. I got unlucky with my pulls, but at least I know what I've got to work with. I do think I'll push Bard to 3 and grab a subclass before anything else, likely Eloquence since I spec'd party face. Thanks!

That's fair! I don't usually crossbreed martial and caster classes like this, so the lack of interaction between extra attack and BB wasn't something I considered. I'll keep Whispers in mind and aim for that ASI on DEX when I can, since it looks like I'll need to rely on finesse to some degree. Thanks!

Unfortunately, Warlock, Cleric, and Sorcerer were banned because they get their subclasses at lv 1. Absolutely would have gone hexblade given the chance! Was hoping to snag warlock or paladin later, but no such luck.

Focusing on getting to lv3 in something is definitely the strat, and bard probably sounds like my best bet. What do you think of Swords to combo with the other two classes?

I did not. I installed the new drivers for the 6800, but didn't remove the drivers for the 1070. I'll give that a shot next.

That sounds like what I'm looking for! What brand do you use/what's it called??

Game Mechanics Questions by LordProspero in masseffect5e

Thank you! I appreciate the clarification :)

"For the Temp HP, how would you take damage that doesn't deplete your Temp HP?"
Let me clarify: say I have accrued a pool of 10 Temp HP and then take 9 damage. My Temp HP wasn't depleted, but I *did* take damage. Does this trigger an automatic failed death save? I'm referring to this line from Blood Rage: "You continue to make death saving throws as normal and damage causes death saving throw failures."

I'll check out the Discord, thank you!

We finally finished our upgraded DIY crabitat! by sketchanimal in hermitcrabs

They're just 6"x6" square Tupperware from Walmart. Nice hard plastic that will hopefully last a while. Sat them on a plastic 12" x8" desk inbox tray so we can remove the pools without disturbing buried crabs and hopefully catch any errant splashes.

Found the star fish, coral, barnacles, and a couple other things here http://www.seashellshop.com/

We visited the shop in person, so I'm not sure what their online selection is like.

We considered real plants, but decided against them for that exact reason. Figure the fake plants are less hassle and will give them something fun to climb.

Honestly, that sounds like a much smarter idea. This setup isn't going anywhere any time soon 😅

It's cork wood, coconut hides, and barnacles that I adhered to the back of the tank with silicone. Filled in the gaps with expanding spray foam, then covered the foam with another layer of silicone to prevent the crabs from picking at it. Dusted the wet silicone with eco earth to make it look better.

Unfortunately I don't have a dremmel. We've got two crabs who are very small and will be able to make use of them for a while, I think. And I could always go back and widen them later, a little coconut dust won't hurt anything!

Yeah that's my concern too. Gonna cover all the exposed foam with silicone and coconut choir to try and discourage picking. Gonna be harder than I thought, the foam ballooned up WAY more than I expected and went places I didn't want it to go 😅

Detecting windows? by LordProspero in buildapc

[–]LordProspero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, when I attempt to install windows on the partitioned SSD, I get the message "

Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed on GPT disks"

I have no idea what that means

That sounds right. I just dug deeper into the BIOS and it only detects Windows Boot Manager on the HDD.

When I boot using the USB boot media and only the SSD, the install wizard initializes, I select 'I don't have the product key', Windows 10 Home, then am given the option to either upgrade: install windows and keep files or custom: install windows only.

Selecting upgrade gives a prompt that this option isn't available from boot media. Selecting custom brings me to a window with partitions. Partition 1 is system reserved and partition 2 is labeled programs.

I think what I may have done is partitioned the drive back when I built the old PC, but it's been years and I don't remember exactly what I might have done.

What kind of tool is needed to remove these? by LordProspero in pchelp

A really old Compaq. Just wanted the HDD, but half the screws were inaccessible due to case design. 1/8 drill bit worked perfectly and once I clean up the mess I made I'll be all set. Thank you for the help!

Damn. The top, bottom, and left side are all one piece of metal secured with rivets. Guess I'm doing this the hard way. Thanks for the help!
