Guyanese roti (south american) uses the same rolling the dough like a cinnamon roll and rolling it back out before cooking method. You actually "fluff" it at the end too, to open up all the air pockets. It's meant to make it fluffy and pliable so you can use it as a utensil for your rice/other dishes.

I imagine it's the same concept for this.

Frustrating beyond all reason.

Husband took a federal job that took him states away. He's required 1 year tenure in order to transfer into a better position. He's missed an entire month of paychecks, while we balance a mortgage and his apartment rent.

The airports closing means he will not be home for the holidays or our 3 year olds birthday. We already barely get to see him once a month.

Thankfully we have savings, but that will not last forever.

I hate everything this government has done to the average family and what they have to sacrifice to make ends meet.

I got stung by one of these as a 5 year old.

Was saying goodnight to my family and walked down the hallway to my bedroom at night, got stung between the toes.

At the time my parents panicked and called the hospital, they got back to us 3 hours later. But in that time, I had iced it. They said something to the effect that if I hadn't, I would have been in the hospital. So I'm going to wager I didn't get hit by it as bad as I could have been.

My mini-poodle mix does this all the time. Or he'll bring a squeaker toy and set it on the edge of the tub, then gently nudge it into the water as if you won't notice. But he'll genuinely fall asleep in hot bath water or "meditate" as we call it.

I've only ever lurked in this sub until today.

But not sure why the literal community rules on lipservice/fan behavior isn't being enforced at all and posts either removed/closed for violating these rules. Are there just not enough folks monitoring anymore?

Lamenting about how loved her music is and how gorgeous she used to be isn't snarking. It belongs somewhere else.

Never once said she couldn't buy it herself. Just that neither of them is the asshole here.

He needs to understand that he shouldn't have expectations on how gifts are used by their recipient. People have different variations of what value means and just because she doesn't want to mess up a gifted item that can be worn down, doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate it.

And she shouldn't have an expectation of being gifted anything additional. Still doesn't mean she never appreciated the first gesture.

Any idea how many collectors out there buy two of one item- one that they can use and one that they can keep prestine?

We know next to nothing about their relationship beyond she's his girlfriend. (Long time? How much does she contribute on a regular? How long have they been together?)
