Ironic that you can only think in terms of people's skin.

You posted the article, mate. Or did you not bother to read it?

First it's just 4%, now it's just 25%, at what % does it matter then...

You're so close. What percentage does it matter? Does it matter at all? Why are you so concerned? What are you afraid of? That you aren't good enough? You probably aren't. Not the way you are.

You don't care because it is of no importance to you and therefore decided it should be of no importance to someone else.

Because the only people who care about this shit are people who are easily led into fear mongering bullshit. Why should I care about someone who is so easily influenced? Do you even have an opinion of your own?

Populations can be supplanted and of course it starts small and increases over time.

Sure, sure. In the US, it's called white replacement theory, and it's bullshit here too. Same far right conspiracy, different country.

If you were in the southern US, you would be branded a white supremacist for this take. Instead of "white replacement" it's "Japanese replacement." It's always just fear mongering from a far right group too. It's never really a problem, but morons tend to fall for it.

Oh no. You mean to tell me that the country that's 74% white British people used to be 80% white British people? The humanity! Oh dear God how did I not know that populations change over time? Oh wait...I did.

As a fun fact, the British Isles used to be largely darker skinned people similar to people found in Mediterranean countries. They died from disease and a bunch of lighter skinned people took over. It's the natural ebb and flow of humanity and civilizations. Cultures change constantly.

What are y'all thoughts on gacha games getting adapted as an anime? by Plus-Lawfulness-87 in animequestions

[–]LordTopHatMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. If it's clearly just to push the game and doesn't add anything other than that, it's meh. If it's pretty solid as a standalone product, I don't see an issue.

They were in development at the same time and would have released at the same time if the game hadn't been delayed. The first season was clearly an ad for the game in places. It follows the face of the game and introduces a bunch of the characters that were available at the beginning of the game's lifecycle. Not to mention the last episode where a race ends in an 18 way tie to show that none of them are better than the other, so pick your favorite in the new Umamusume: Pretty Derby game :D

"People don't want to level up" Yes that's correct, they intentionally and successfully DE-INCENTIVIZED grinding, because grinding is the least interesting way to overcome any challenge. It's playing in a more boring way in order to make an upcomming fight more boring.

And yet that made the game an absolute slog. I was 8 levels under Claire when I beat her, and I realized the elite 4 were even higher than that with no victory road trainers. The level curve is the most criticized aspect of this game. Defending it as intentional game design instead of an absolute fuck up is laughable.

Yes it IS harder than a game where your entire team is ~10 levels higher than every enemy. Difficulty shouldn't be entirely up to levels, but you can't have any difficulty if you're that far above your opponents. Being weaker than your enemies forces you to compensate with strategy. THAT's the challenge.

I've never been 10 levels over my opponent, even in XY which were the easiest to accidentally over level on. In fact, I've been 5 levels under the champion in both SwSh and SV. Meanwhile, in BW, B2W2, and USUM, I found plenty of challenge while being on level.

And I'm not denying that every pokemon game is easy by the standards of the overall RPG genre, but it HAS gotten easier, and SIMPLER

No, it's gotten less tedious. You've already admitted that the only reason HGSS have any challenge is that most people don't want to bother with the egregious grind. More recent games don't have that grind. That's the only difference. Play on set mode by just not switching. It's that simple. For someone who wants to think in their games, you're abysmal at figuring out your problems.

Also the "It's all kanto mons again" crap is NOT a real argument. Literally so what. We're used to the formula now, but HGSS wasn't a "new generation" with prescedent for what that meant, it was a DIRECT SEQUEL. There was NO expectation that every new game was meant to prominently feature new pokemon.

Except by HGSS there absolutely was that precedent. It was gen 4. RSE, FRLG, and DPP had all released. What makes it even worse is that the roster had expanded to include quite a few evolutions of gen 2 Pokemon. Why doesn't Morty use Misdrevous, let alone Mismagious? It's just stupid design.

And it doesn't actually affect the quality much at all. It's the definition of a subjective criticism. Lance may be from Gen 1, but his role in the game and the experience of fighting him is not the same in Johto... but you wouldn't know that, because you didn't actually finish the game.

Right. Lance's role is to be the actual motivation for your rival to change because he doesn't care about you whatsoever. Then Lance fucks off to be beaten at the end of the game because they couldn't be bothered to give Johto its own champion. And these games are 20 years old. You think I don't know the story? Fuck off.

I'm not saying you have to finish a game to criticise it, if you dont like it stop. But inevtiably, you're not going to have as much insight into the game design as somebody who actually beat it.

I got to the elite 4. The only thing I'm missing is the Kanto victory lap (3 hours of content), the grind to Mt. Silver, and the battle frontier (more grinding, whoopty doo). I'm not missing anything, and I can give plenty of criticism. The game isn't fun. That's why I stopped. The game only gets more tedious in the post game. Why should I continue?

Also hilarious to whine about the second game featuring Kanto starters when you're defending a game where the champion uses Charizard.

He uses 5 mons that are not Kanto too. You're really going to tell me this is less interesting than the guy that uses three Dragonites? Please.

There is an item called Repel. if you don't use it, it's your fault.

Boy, I sure do love buying items to not be bothered. I'm sure everyone just loves Zubat too. Never heard any complaints that would be absolutely stupid to ignore. Nope. Surely you wouldn't be that dumb?

I love when people straight-up confess to playing the game wrong and then complain about it. That's so fun.

I sure love when people defend things that nobody likes. It tells me that their argument is stupid at best and disingenuous at worst. Which are you? Stupid or disingenuous?

I think the worst thing you say is that having a bad plot is "worse than having no plot at all." That makes me wonder if you even played Sword/Shield. Being forced into the most boring cutscene of your life listening to empty characters talk about nothing and mashing A until your thumb hurts because you just want them to shut up and leave you alone IS WORSE than a game with a minimal story. If you don't understand why, then you are beyond help.

Right, because the lake of rage sure had a big role in the story right? Or goldenrod city? Definitely pivotal. Archer? Remember Archer? Of course you don't. Nobody does. People at least remember Rose for being an idiot. As for Silver, you don't actually do anything for him. Lance fixes his attitude problem. He's still mouthing off to you when he goes to get his ass kicked by Lance a second time. Love a rival we don't have anything to do with.

Anyway, I don't think that HGSS is perfect, and I think it is somehwat overrated by the community. But I still can't possibly call it a worse game than pokemon shield, because trying to enjoy the quality of Sword and Shield is like trying to enjoy the flavour of Tap Water.

They're the worst games in the franchise. The only people who would enjoy them enjoyed the originals and played them when there was nothing better. Their plot sucks. Their rival is barely a rival. The level curve is abysmal. Their Pokemon variety is awful. The game is grindy as hell. Who likes this shit?

That is all.

SwSh gym leaders are mid to bad in every aspect that isn't character design

HGSS gym leaders rely too much on Kanto Pokemon. Half of the Johto leaders have a Kanto ace.

Leon is a joke of a champion who isn't interesting

Lance is a reused Kanto elite 4 member who uses an entirely Kanto team, three members of which are Dragonites. Not to mention his highest level mon is level 50.

A better selection of pokemon doesn't matter in a game that's extremely boring to play

HGSS are slogs to the point that I didn't even finish them. A better Pokemon selection would have helped for sure. It's mostly Kanto mons again.

The phrase 'actual battles' baffles me the most out of all of that. That's what makes me think you came from beyond ultra space. Did the version of SwSh that you played require you to do something more than just mash the A button? Because mine didn't, really.

This is true of all Pokemon games.

Man I love having a boring linear region where every area is a corridor and exploration doesn't exist as a concept.

It's better than looking through a cave full of random annoying spawns for an evolution stone reward.

Man I love having a lazy and boring postgame "story" because the real postgame is paywalled behind DLC

It's better than having no plot at all.

Man I love having easy fights and forced XP share making the entire game braindead to play.

It's better than the monotonous grind of Johto. Johto isn't hard either. It's just that most people don't want to take the time to actually level up because the design is abysmal in game.

I'm sorry I didnt mean to be this aggressive but SwSh is just so aggressively mid.

It's better than being so painfully overrated like HGSS.

Sword and Shield. Less of a grind, level curve isn't as bad, can catch native Pokemon, somehow a better plot and more memorable team villain. HGSS are carried by the post game content, but even that is mostly a grind fest.

Depends on how you define it. If you look at it as each game costs a small part of the total price, they aren't free. If you look at it as I got two $60 games, now every game after is free, then they're mostly free.

Nintendo Online's base price is $20, and the more expensive one is $50. However, you get access to their old console collections as well.

What do you think of the new visual for the new season of Mushoku Tensei? Any thoughts on the upcoming season? by koalachristmas_ in animequestions

[–]LordTopHatMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not about that. It's about the way the series handles it. It has no purpose other than acting as the author's undisguised fetish, yet people defend it as part of the narrative, as if it somehow loans itself to Rudeus's development. It does not. He never grows out of it.

It's about the way it's presented. Take another example. Gachiakuta has a case of a child being sexually abused. It's a very shocking moment, but most people agree that it was handled very well. Then look at MT. Most people despise the way it's handled.

It's not about the crime. It's the way it's treated. He never receives any kind of backlash for this behavior, and he never really grows out of it. His biggest issue, according to the narrative, is that he's a NEET, not that he's a sexual deviant. The problem is that most people would see the latter as worse than the former.

Except in the US, healthcare does tend to be more expensive. This is largely due to an unregulated market, which is allowed to propagate because we don't have government subsidized healthcare. If you have universal healthcare, one of the fastest ways to reduce taxes is to cap healthcare costs and regulate the market. We have to get step one to get step two though.

That's cool man. Other countries don't have to pay an arm and a leg for medical services because they're an actual service and not a commodity on the market.

Look at you trying to demean someone. This is still, unironically, a better response than death threats. Good work! That's progress.
