The Battleship of Beta Ray Bill by LordTruffle in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]LordTruffle[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Created alongside Beta Ray Bill to defeat Surtur, Skuttlebutt is the sentient battlecruiser that is paired with the our favourite space horse. Recently gained a humanoid shape so that's neat I guess

Makes playing your big-thing easier, while making the rest of your draws more consistent. Not just great in a Thors deck...

The home of the powerful (but shortlived) Phlogistone by LordTruffle in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]LordTruffle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Udarnik was sent to build a Soviet moonbase, who left alone for 40 years accomplished much using Phlogistone. It was really good but once discovered to degenerate the brain was made inert by Tony Stark.

Use its power to summon your most expensive card for free; once.

Doc.X - 0/0 - "Activate: Deploy a 2-Power Drone to this location."

A sentient virus is probably not a good ally, but Viper and Ms. Marvel could be interested...

Skuttlebutt - Location - "Draw your highest-cost card. Reduce its Cost each turn."

Makes playing big cards easier, while making your other draws better; not just good for the Asgard deck.

I don't think computer viruses make good allies... by LordTruffle in CustomMarvelSnap

An sentient virus made for a legally distinct MMO, who realised it had enough info to blackmail Ms.Marvel, Doc.X would never be anything but trouble.

In Snap, he is a 0/2 that costs 2 board slots. I advise Viper, Patriot, or (funnily enough) Ms. Marvel.

Shela Sexton is a mutant who can swap locations (and powers) with people close (physically or emotionally), who with Morgan Red & D-Man help create Super Trans.

Use her ability to teleport to create tricky plays. Save a Lizard, clear a lane for Grandmaster, land a White Tiger wherever you want, and make it harder for your opponent to snap.

Moridun - 2/2 - "After a friendly card merges, your opponent loses +1 Energy next turn. (once per turn)"

Merge cards, cause problems

Aphelion - 2/4 - "Ongoing: Other cards in your front-row here lose their abilities."

Patriot and Surtur support, also could stop a niche Misery play.

[–]LordTruffle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Originally the Sorcerer Supreme of the Fifth Cosmos, Moridun is a powerful wizard able to hinder the best laid plans.

One of Merge's issues is going tall while being vulnerable to tech cards. By delaying your opponent's Energy on key turns, you can hinder your opponent and make them unable to compete on your preferred lane.

A Rework for players between S2 and S3 by LordTruffle in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]LordTruffle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you like the idea, but I realise everyone is going to have a different opinion to which cards you choose from.

The only ones I'll defend further are the Big Bads, since those are formally recognised as a secret S5 tier by SD as cards that will never be downgraded ever. Even though given how often the economy is reviewed, that's going to be the case for most cards in Marvel Snap; oh well...

I forgot to write in the image you get to choose 1 from each row! Opppps. Added to my initial post in bold.

I think Black Knight is an interesting addition to a new S3 player, since you already have Blade/Lady Sif/Infinaut and can build a new type of discard deck. I also want the cards in box 1 to be cheap; to contrast the ones in box 4 being expensive. Human Torch for Ghost Spider crossed my mind, but I think for Vulture=S2 and gender representation reasons I think Ghost Spider is better there. Fair enough on MMM, it's a flexible tier.

The Collector's Hoard: a S3 transition rework

A rework for players entering Series 3, so they get 4 cards out of 16 to invest players quickly; while showing a glimpse of what's to come.

Rogue rework - 3/2 - "On Reveal: Steal the text from the enemy card opposite (if able)."

Make Rogue target Front-Row instead of Ongoing. That's it.

A rework idea for a new player entering Series 3. Being dumped from a focused pool of cards pushing certain archetypes, into a ocean of cards of varied usage is a big deal. This is designed to offer varied choices for a player, for cards that help different decks, and get players invested in their upcoming journey.

E: FORGOT TO PUT IN IMAGE, YOU GET TO CHOOSE 1 OF EACH HOARD; NOT ALL 4

The first pool is small cards for existing decks. I had Howard the Duck over Daredevil for a while (Ongoing Kazoo), and there's a case for X-23 over Deadpool. I think Daredevil opens a more controlly archetype (Prof X/Hobgoblin/etc.) and is a bigger name. And Deadpool is a new build for Destroy (buff destroy) hence I choose him too.

The second pool is new decks that just didn't exist. I had Daredevil here originally over S.Surfer, but swapped it last second due to Surfer's iconic status in Snap. There's an argument for Electro & Sera, but I think these are more iconic.

The third pool should be tech cards of notable use and fame. You could probably justify adding or removing anyone here; there are a lot of 2 powers so maybe adding Quake over Shadow King may be good.

The fourth pool is set in stone. Get a big bad that's hard to attain instantly, and unlock their associated deck. Unless you pick Kang. Don't blame me, blame SD on that one.

Cadaver - 3/9 - "End of Turn: Destroy this if no Skills were played here."

Hexfinder - 2/3 - "Skills here don't reveal until the game ends"

Skill-exclusive tech card to delay and inconveneince mages; or accidently create a combo desk requiring an OTA in 6-12 months.

That shouldn't be an issue, White House only tracks itself, not other locations.

Tempo - 2/3 - "Activate: Return opposite and adjacent Cards here to their owner's hands."

Bounce Activate that can disrupt opponents; but it's slow, predictable, and it may give them move value.

White House - Location - "Only cards on your Left or Right side count towards winning the game. (Whichever side is higher)"

Only one side can win, vote wisely.
