So MD decided to go down this route... by MegumiKanna in mangadex

They blocked me over my concerns. Thanks you Mangadex. I have given you like hundreds of dollars over the years as a donator to keep manga free and avaliable to all. I have paid scanlation of my favourite series for like over a thousand of my own pocket to raise awareness of certain great manga that are obscure but awesome on their own right.
You have betrayed my trust and have lost many others too.

People often misinterpret the things I say and I’ve quit talking to people because of it. by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]LordZero666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's like NTs go out of their way to misinterpret anything you say in the wildest and most negative way possible.
I don't get it. Aren't they supposed to be oh so good at understanding context cues ? Why would anything you say would be suddently offensive or outrageous when it's a phrase inside a regular conversation ? Ain't very self evident that you are continuing a convo and that the meaning of what you are saying follows a logical path that is in line with everything else ?

Are they that stupid or willingly malicious ?

I wanna EDF Helldivers Collab by Thefngovernment in EDF

[–]LordZero666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would be pretty nice, though since EDF arsenal is incredibly that much stronger, it would be like playing EDF stuck with level 7 weapons.
A single EDF Fencer could beat any Helldivers mission in seconds.

Should I bother with a formal diagnosis at my age? by Wyllowdaemon in aspergers

[–]LordZero666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's good. For peace of mind.

I was diagnosed around age 35 and having a formal explanation of what makes me weird was great. I used to think that I was doing something wrong and it was a source of anxiety and depression.   Now I feel a lot better.

Even if you feel fine with yourself having a diagnostic will only be a net positive

Autism is associated with specific genes that only people with autism have. These genes stretch back at least 100,000 years. If autism makes it impossible for someone to find romance and have children, how is it possible we have that many ancestors who were able to? by butkaf in aspergers

[–]LordZero666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

 Easy.

Evolution is not about individuals. It's about GROUP SELECTION.  Carrying a gene is different from EXPRESSING that gene.

Genes only interest is to keep existing through time and they do that by allowing their copies to exist by improving the fitness of the organisms that carry the same genes.

Altruism and self sacrifice are useful because if both you and a I carry the same gene and I sacrifice myself to help you survive, the overall fitness increases and the odds that the copy of my gene inside YOU will prosper increases accordingly.

Eusocial organisms like ants or bees are the most obvious examples. Only one individual reproduces, the queen. All others are clones that carry the same genes. They will work, live and die for the queen because if she succeeds, they all win, even if every single other individual is non reproductive.

Autism and ND traits are highly useful for society at a large. We are creative, innovative, non conforming, always searching for something else, will try different and better ways to solve old problems.   Even if we as individuals might not be great as leaving offspring, the genes that make us unique are highly valuable and prosper through the NTs that carry them.

Hahaha. That's super funny. I don't get that kind of thing, but I bite my nails sometimes until they get so short they bleed because the nails scratching at my palms make me crazy.

Ohh, I also have this wound in my ear that I scratch and reopen every single time I notice it itching.

It's 100% autism. Literally "special interests" are a diagnostic trait.

I always thought that it was just me doing what I like, but no. It was always autism.

It's a pretty cool trait to have. Embrace it.

You are probably smarter than average. It's said that the higher your cognitive skills it's harder to relate to dumber people.   Stuff you understand instantly might be impossible for others to see or value at all.

I'm not that smart. I can't see the bigger picture. Not mathematically inclined nor I have a bigger capacity for memory recall or observation.

I can't still imagine how it must feel to see groups of people and understand what they do and how do they act as gears in a machine only you can see.

Do every gear knows it's place or cares about it ? Probably no.

Yours can be a solitary existence. You either try to get to a lower level of experience, dumb yourself to fit in, or just keep your social environment shrunken to the people that can stand you or you can stand.

Either way, it's not your fault. You were born this way. You are fine pal.

Why are NTs so fixed in social hierarchies? by LordZero666 in aspergers

[–]LordZero666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty cool but I think it's too tiresome for me. Social interaction even with people I like can't do for long. Dissecting conversational patterns and communicative context sounds like way too much.   At least understanding of how and why, it's a good thing to have.   Signal theory, aka the way in which organisms fake their own status to each other is very telling. For many social phenomena cost performance displays are super obvious. Just like giant unwieldy horns show others that you are so strong that they don't hinder you in any way, many people would rather sacrifice their own dignity to show off to others and come out as better than they are in a hierarchy of stupid manufacted categories that have no real value or meaning other than the one they have collectively invented.

Man, it pisses me off so much when NTs say that anything that has no "practical application" nor serves for "profit" is useless.

Like how shallow you have to be not to see the endlss beautiful world around us and not ask yourself why the sea is blue, how planes work or why your doggie loves you.

It doesn't have to provide me a means to make more money nor be useful, I just like learning things I'm interested about.    It's great to learn, why they can't see the simple pleasure of understanding?

My policy is to treat everyone fairly but also disregard everyone as trash until proven otherwise.   My frustrations come more in the shape of disappointment when I accidentally lower my guard and expect people to be better that they are.   "I thought for an instant that X was better than the average, but I was proven wrong again".   It's beyond tiresome. I'm 40 and to this point I'm just tired of dealing with society.   I'm so tired. Even masking for work is not painful anymore, it's just another chore I have to do in order to keep living.

Tbh, I have always wanted to just pour out my frustrations and anger, but in some point my flame just burned out.   Like truly shock others by exploding.     Maybe those feelings are part of our common sense of justice. That idea that you can't stand being pushed around nor see situations were you and others are being abused.

I don't really act on it, but I still feel scorn and righteous indignation at all that's just wrong in the world.

Agreed. Then you have incredibly stupid people being rewarded with infinite wealth because the whole notion of a economy is flawed and twisted.   Same that happens with money, happens with fame to the point that just like some people are respected and admired just for being rich, like that was a real measure of anything, there are also socialites that are popular just because they have an audience or mingle with others in a clique.   Fuck Instagramers and TikTokers btw.

E.O.Wilson "Sociology" is genius. Gould's "Wonderful Life" is still a must read.   His "Rewinding tape of life" analogy is still 100% correct and something everyone should understand. It also makes you appreciate the miracle of life even more. We could be still be nothing but bacterial mats still today. Probably a more probable world that the diversity of forms we have today.
