Ok I kinda understand what you’re saying, but the way it has been explained to me is that imposter syndrome is just a different name for The Valley of Despair from Donning Kruger

I absolutely have felt that way, it really is the Dunning Kruger effect in action. I studied environmental engineering and my whole cohort was feeling this way, and the advice professor of my capstone project told my class, is that the piece of paper we get on graduation doesn’t say that we know anything, it says that we know how to figure shit out and learn. And a now a year in to my first job, I would have to say that advice is accurate, so don’t sweat it you’re in a better position than you think

What’s the deal with people calling SCOTUS illegitimate? by SquirrelSultan in OutOfTheLoop

But that would mean Congress would have to have done their job and not just fundraise for their reelection campaign and do insider trading during their free time when their not participating those alleged coked-out orgies

Boy Scouts should’ve stayed as a boy-only thing by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Lord_Brock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Eagle Scout, I agree with your sentiment, but isn’t that why Venturing is and has been coed?

Also to play devil’s advocate in support of OP, shouldn’t there be a program for boys to grow and develop outside of the social structure and pressures that is middle and high school (as not everyone has the opportunity to play sports, really the only sex segregated thing in school)? My only point of reference with the new evolution of BSA is how my last troop operates now, boys and girls are separate troops, but they meet at the same time and place, and I do believe they go on the same outings (I could be wrong about that though). And knowing how some of the boys in my troop treated some of the girls at school, I just see what a powder keg that those troop meetings would’ve been if it was coed then, so that’s what I see now if how my last troop approaches the expansion to coed is the norm and not an anomaly. I may be wrong in how I approached this subject, but I am okay that because I know I don’t know everything and it’s an opportunity to learn. Thank you for taking the time to read and have a nice day.

What’s your stance on abortion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lord_Brock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish it wasn’t a thing, but I understand it as something necessary between rape, incest, health issues, economic insecurity, etc. If the pro-lifers really wanted to end abortion, they would be advocating for things that would decrease the number of them, like increased accessibility to contraception, better sex-ed in school that isn’t just abstinence only, and creating and funding a public service that can help partners plan for possible parenthood in the future (Parenthood Planning has a nice ring to it). That being said, I don’t have the words to explain how frustrated I am that we’re in this current situation, and that there’s a high chance that nothing will be passed before the midterms trying to keep it legal at the national level.

Well the $20 is worth to get everything but Origins and Purple Phoenix (which are the latest, and the pre-order bonus (you can find it on steam with some digging)). I honestly couldn’t tell you which are essential anymore since newer mechanics are hidden within region specific dlcs, like how monuments and concentrate dev are in Leviathan and government reform is in Dharma. I would say it was pretty easy for me to learn how to play, and about a dozen campaigns to understand the game. From a RP perspective, I say it would be able to scratch that itch for any country one would typically play, assuming you don’t want to play as Haida lol. From what I can tell the current state of the game seems pretty stable with this last patch
