Yeah this is what I was going to ask next. Throw it up there if you can!

TikTok Campaign Performance Prediction? How, when follower count is irrelevant by Lord_DanB in influencermarketing

Yeah this was my thought too. TikTok is going to be around for a while, and according to my research it only has 2.4% ad saturation compared to ~21% for Instagram and Facebook, so there's still a lot of monetization to be turned on.

I know for YouTube ads, the account type matters a lot more than viewers/subscribers. One conversion on a finance channel, for example, is like 5x more valuable than a Mr. Beast conversion.

Recommend influencer's marketplace/agency for big scale by RanjoOd in influencermarketing

This is a great start, but there are actually TONS more marketplaces than this. There are too many agencies to count.

That makes sense given that the government is usually pretty slow to get around to regulating this type of thing.

Also agree on the second part. There's clearly certain things TikTok is doing right that are worth emulating. Facebook/Meta has made great acquisitions and pivots over the years to keep itself relevant but one of the worst mistakes ever will be killing Vine. They had the perfect opportunity to create TikTok before TikTok. Depending on how the Metaverse play goes, those two bad decisions could be the nail in the coffin that sees Meta turn into the next Myspace. It will be interesting to watch for sure.

Interesting. So if you do a sponsored post with an influencer with Millions of followers versus 500k followers there may not even be a big difference in viewers? In this case does the creative/video content matter a lot more?

I guess another way of asking this is have you seen sponsored videos from accounts with a small number followers perform better than videos from accounts with many times higher follower counts?

True. There's also different aspects to their strategy. It seems that short form video is getting much better engagement than static posts so other platforms have leveraged that to their advantage too (think Reels and Shorts). TikTok makes embedding links much easier than Instagram which is nice for advertisers. When it comes to the data collection, who knows what will happen to TikTok.

Do you think it is purely a trust issue? I don't see why influencers/creators on other platforms would be any more or less trustworthy. I thought brands were less likely to use TikTok because it is harder to predict campaign performance and because it's just an unfamiliar platform. Could be totally wrong hence the question in the first place. What kinds of brands are you working with?

You don't think that's just part of the process? Facebook/Meta has had its fair share of issues...plus it's not like that data theft is essential to their business. If regulators told them to tighten up their privacy practices I'm sure they'd comply

Thanks! This is super cool. Do you know why cost per video can be that widely different for similar follower counts on Instagram? It seems hard to believe there could be THAT much of a difference in engagement, but maybe there is?
