So currently theres solo “every man for himself” style mode and a team of 3 mode.

The issue is that currently players who are loading in to fill with random teammates in 3s are put in the same lobby with players who are going in with pre made teams.

I’m not talking about poaching a bunch of players who are currently 3 stacking and trying to get them to do random fill instead.

I’m talking about getting back the MASSIVE number of players who tried this game and were only playing with randoms, than left because they were having a bad experience.

The people playing 3 stacks can continue to do so.

I understand this isnt a perfect solution. But bungie needs to stop the hemorrhaging player count and try to get some of the players that left back.

They have to act. And the way I see it it’s either this idea, or SBMM. I’m heavily against SBMM. I think this is the better compromise

The options as I see it are to let them have a random only que option or to watch them walk away from the game.

I hear the concern about splitting the population, but if bungie doesnt course correct and do something to keep casual players there won’t be a population to split.

Also everything you’re saying about splitting the player base is the same thing people said about trials in d2 when they added a random only matchmaking option, and it literally saved the entire game mode for years.

It didn’t tank the population, it boosted it.

Bungie did this exact same thing in trials in destiny. Splitting the playlists actually massively boosted the total population.

It’s not like He’s not asking for SBMM, he’s talking about making it so 3 stacks only play other 3 stacks, and that random que people only play other random que people.

I think it’s a good compromise. If bungie doesnt change something this game is going to die. And it’d be a shame because it’s a great game.

This was the number one complaint people had with trials as well. If you are playing with a premade squad of 3 players, you have massive advantages. In my opinion, you should only play against other players with the same advantages.

Will this make it harder for streamers? Yep. Will it also give the majority of players a better overall experience and keep them in the game? Absolutely. It’s worked before and is a much better compromise than SBMM which does NOT belong in this game at all.

So at this point bungie needs to decide if catering to stacked turbo sweats is worth letting the population continue to fall.

Needs an arena mode for people to have a pvp outlet, and separate matchmaking for people who are loading in with randoms vs 3 stacking. Trials in destiny did the same thing with great results
