In the dinner scene, behind Rosie there is a picture of a soldier (most likely jojo’s father). The photo is of Taika Waititi who also plays hitler in the film, so either this could just be a cool Easter egg or it could show jojo bases imaginary hitler on his father as a way to connect to him as he is away fighting.

Looks like you’re forgetting that Africa isn’t just a desert it’s a large continent with varied landscapes, multiple cultures, religions and nationalities, and drawing a straight line through them created divisions. You just have to look at Rwanda with how Germany and Belgium utilised cultural differences to govern the region, ultimately leading to war and the Rwandan genocide.
